The Space

Home to 2 furry, friendly cats. You get this: 2 bedrooms plus if needed a 3rd space convert for extra person. I am on site and you are welcome to make yourself comfortable as if at home.Peaceful decor, comfortable rooms. Great decor and artwork from many local artist in Wisconsin, plus work of my own. I am in and out of the house and I am sure you are not coming to Milwaukee to just chill out. There is so much to do! So basically you get a whole floor for 2 or 4 guests.
The Rooms upper level of home 3rd floor is all yours.
#1 has a great single futon sleeper (which I call a lounge) #2 full size bed, #3 an extra room that can be converted with single raised air mattress bed. All rooms have air conditioners, for the summer months. Will accommodate up to 3 to 4 people.Plus 2 bathrooms. one on 1st floor and on 2nd floor. There is also wonderful spaces to chill in- the kitchen porch, the front porch, and a beautiful deck with grill all can be used for evening cocktails, surfing the internet, and relaxing. Peaceful place to recharge and relax after a day of meetings or tours around the city.

Guest Access

Guest have access to kitchen, dining and living rooms along with both bathroom of course. If needed usage of washer and dryers also. These are all shared spaces with guest and myself.

Interaction with Guests

Interaction up to guests. I am friendly and knowledgeable about places to see and things to do while you are here in Milwaukee.. If you are hungry to eat at some great local restaurants I can direct you to them.

The Neighborhood

What I love about the neighborhood is it's great location. The house is a minute from the expressway, a straight shot to downtown. Diverse neighborhood. If you have questions of fun places or where to eat. I am more than happy to assist. walking distance to Miller Park Stadium. The beautiful Hank Aaron Trail minutes from the house.

Getting around

Public transit -Yes
Street parking city parking permission needed on week days for up to 4 days and there is no charge. The city just needs to know the car is parked on the street. Weekends no restrictions at all.

  • Angela has a lovely home in a lovely neighborhood. She is incredibly warm and friendly and we very much enjoyed our stay. We had a private living room and bedroom on the third floor, both beautifully decorated, though could have been a tad cleaner. We had access to the bathroom on the second floor. The cats were very sweet and friendly. The house is very close to Wisconsin Ave and the bus lines that run downtown from there and to the Hank Aaron trail which leads to the downtown area along the river. My only suggestion for improvement would be to clean and declutter the back staircase and landing a bit since this is the main access for guests to the top floor. Otherwise it was perfect!

Emily, thank you so much for the review. Your compliments and your suggestions were great. I pride myself in having a clean home and as soon as I read your review I went into action. Sometimes it takes someone else to see things differently than you and I appreciate you telling me. Usage of the back stairway and hall is a new move for me to help guest have a little more private entrance into the upstairs. I have now cleaned the clutter and removed the shelf that was there. The floor will be tiled on the landing and the hall painted this week. picture of the hallway as been added so people can see the progress and so you can see that your suggestion was taken to heart...
It was sooo great to hear these things, I strive to be an excellant host and want guest to always have a wonderful, happy experience.

  • We so enjoyed our stay at this serene home. It was a sanctuary, a retreat. Quiet, comfortable, tasteful and peaceful. Our sleeping accommodations were excellent, three separate well kept, stylish bedrooms in cozy arrangement on the top floor, and shared space on second floor where the bathroom, kitchen, zen room and living area are. Angela was 'there' if we needed her, but was mostly in her space doing her thing. She is personable and real, informative and hospitable. Would go out of my way to stay here again. Thanks Angela!!

  • Professional pictures are absolute must in this listing. Angela's house is peaceful and inspiring. The decor reflects her inner zen and she welcomes guests with great care. Angela responds fast to rental request and makes sure her guests enjoy their visit to Milwaukee. I will definitely recommend her house, short drive from downtown.

  • Staying at Angela's place for the night was great. The place itself is beautifully decorated and very clean, and along with the third floor where we were staying, Angela also allowed access to the second floor as well to access the kitchen and bathroom, it was no hassle at all. The space in the third floor was cute and cozy, with a bed that can sleep two and also a small living room type area with a tv and a small couch. The space is home to two cats, and while this was a slight concern at first (I have allergies) it wound up being no problem at all, I saw the cats maybe like 2-3 times during our stay and for the most part I couldn't tell there were even cats around. So do not let the fact that she has cats detract you at all from staying here. Also, a previous review noted that there were no doors upstairs to keep the cats out, I'm not sure if maybe this is something Angela already took care of, but there are definitely doors to both the bedroom and the living area up there, so there should be no concerns about that. Other then the great place Angela was extremely friendly and generous, also giving us recommendations of places to eat at (I recommend Sobelmans). Another great thing is that it is within 10 minutes of many places and close to downtown Milwaukee, it was nice having everything so close by and being so close to the Milwaukee theater for the show we were attending. In the morning Angela also left us bagels and OJ for breakfast which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely consider staying at Angela's place in the future whenever I decide to take another trip to Milwaukee. There is definitely good reason to go back!

  • Angela showed us the house and was a great host while my group had a cycling event in Milwaukee. She even had a good place for us to keep the bikes!

The neighborhood is fairly quiet and easily accessible (by car). Angela is very pleasant and personable. My team was happy that I made them pitch in for a nice place instead of crashing on someone's floor, and definitely appreciated the quiet comfort of Angela's place.

  • Angela was great. She came and let us in when we got into town and showed us around. She even made muffins in the morning! Her house is close to downtown, Miller Park, and Miller Valley. It is also close, but not too close, to the interstate, which made it great for visiting the city.

It should be noted that the bedroom with the futon doesn't have a door but a curtain. This allows the cats to come in during the night since their litterbox is right outside the bedrooms. We ended up blocking the opening with our suitcase and lots of throw pillows to keep them out. The futon is only big enough for one person, but it was an amazingly comfy futon.

Also, there is no air conditioning upstairs so it was a little hot and stuffy.

Overall, if you and some friends are looking for a place to explore the city from, I would recommend Angela's house. It was great place to spend the night.
