Our private one bedroom studio is perfect for a couple interested in exploring the upcountry and north shore areas of Maui.

The Space

Private studio located in upcountry Maui, 10 minutes from north shore beaches, Kahului, and Paia town. Enjoy the cool breezes of upcountry living with it's own entrance, bathroom, and patio. The studio also has it's own kitchenette and also comes with wifi. We have space for surfboards and kite or windsurfing gear.
Some of the highlights of this space include the delightful outside patio (also private) where you can enjoy your meals. It borders 35 acres of pristine fields (lots of deer and birds), providing a peaceful and tranquil spot. We have a gas grill available that is perfect for an afternoon BBQ.
We recommend that you have a car although the Maui bus has a stop at the bottom of our street (two minute walk). Makawao town is a mile away and has some quaint shops and restaurants.

  • Great stay! Comfortable and convenient, fully equipped studio. Communication before and during the stay with Ben was great. The location is perfect if you want to stay in the upcountry area. Good and easy to follow directions to arrive. So glad I chose to stay at this spot!

  • We stayed in Maui for just a few days, but our little room had a bathroom, a little kitchen and a private entrance. Everything inside was clean and nice. Things were thought through very thoroughly. Anything we might have needed we found there. It was nice and quiet, no one bothered us. The location is great too, you're right in the middle of the island. Thank you Ben! I definitely recommend everyone to stay there! Aloha!

  • This was the perfect place for our stay! Ben was traveling but had some amazing house sitters. It as s very nice being centrally located, roughly 10 minutes to Paia, Kula, and Haiku , our favorite places. The entire studio was accomidated perfectly, we never had to ask for one thing...perfect. Ben also suggested some amazing places to (email hidden)edless to say, we were not disappointed. This was an amazing journey with my new fiance as of late, this little studio just made everything all that much better! It was nice calling this place home for a week, something we will never forget!
Thanks Ben, Crystal and Clayton for an amazing stay!

  • We didn't meet Ben he was on holiday, but communication via e-mai was perfect. The studio is very clean and cozy. We liked staying there very much, because we had everything for our own (bathroom and Kirchen). We found everything, we needed. There was enough space for our luggage. Having breackfast and dinner in the little garden was very relaxing. Makawao is upcountry, but a perfect location for visting all the attractions of Maui. We enjoyed not being in the tourist hustle and bustle. We highly recommend this place.

  • Ben and Crystal have been perfect hosts. We enjoyed every minute in their studio which was by the way perfectly located. Makawao is a really good location to start towards every direction/sightseeing. We really loved coming "home" in the evening and missed them both the minute we left... Hope to see you guys again soon. Highly recommended!

  • Ben and Crystal were great host! The small studio was very clean and the neighborhood very quiet. We stayed for three nights only but wished we had booked more. We recommend this studio! Mahalo again for your hospitality!

  • Comfortable and quiet, this studio apartment was perfect for our week-long stay on Maui. We found it an ideal base from which to explore the whole Island. It's private and on a quiet street away from the touristy hustle and bustle of the resorts. In short, just what we were looking for!

The kitchen was tiny but worked well for us - the fridge was large enough for fixings for a few meals and our leftovers. We cooked on the grill outside as well, which was very nice. We did spot a few ants in the kitchen, so just be sure to keep your food sealed up tight or in the fridge. Dishes and cutlery were very nice and functional.

We made great use of the beach umbrellas that were provided, and loved that the bathroom had some shampoo and after-sun cream available for our use - saved us from having to rush to the store as soon as we got there.

Like others, I would recommend installing some screen doors - we would have loved to have the doors open for fresh air - it got stuffy in the evenings - but there were too many mosquitoes about. That said, the small fan provided worked well for circulating air, and the temperature at night was perfect.

All in all this was a great place to stay, especially for adventurers like us who spend most of our time out and about. Our top recommendations for the island include seeing the sun rise at Haleakala, driving the road to Hana, eating Ululani's Shave Ice, snorkeling, and renting a boogie board & checking out various beaches along the south and west coasts.

  • This was a lovely little room that was off the beaten path. It was up in the mountains so it was cool at night, perfect for sleeping. The host had everything that you could possibly need, including after sun skin repair lotion. It was so quiet and peaceful and was a fantastic home base for us. We went to Oahu after staying here and paid a lot more for a hotel that was not at nice. We would defiantly come back and recommend this place to anyone planning on going to Maui!

  • Almost everything was perfect. Only that we had no Chance to meet Ben personally was a pity.

  • My wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The studio really feels like your own vacation home with a private entrance. It was a very nice and relaxing location throughout our stay.

The studio was clean, conveniently located and well provisioned. Ben was very responsive to any question or concern we had via Text message.

The only negative, which is a really minor thing, is that the bed isn't exactly as super comfortable as one would hope.
