Description

The space

This is the perfect place for couples looking for the ideally located launch pad from which to see all the best Austin has to offer. At the end of the day, it's a cozy, comfy, uniquely-decorated home to retreat to. You'll LOVE your stay here.

Hopefully the pictures speak for the comfort of this home. This is a modern home in walking distance to all that makes Austin one of the best cities in the country: restaurants, bars, clubs, museums, the Capital, food trailers, Town Lake and its amazing running trail, go tubing down the Colorado just a 3 minute drive away, world famous Franklin Bar BQ, White Horse saloon; way, way too much to list here. This is an incredibly comfortable home right on the pulse of the city. My home has a truly "Austin" feel with all the art from local artists as well as internationals and interesting memorabilia throughout. The place is spacious with a 27 foot ceiling and a custom library with sliding ladder standing 12 feet tall and very warm and unique lighting that really pops when the sun goes down.

Mi casa, su casa. Two, covered, gated parking spots are yours as well as access to the ground's bar bq pit and picnic table.

I may be out of town, but my friend Mari lives just down the street and will be happy to set you up and give you the low down on the city. Please contact her to set up accommodations (phone number hidden).

East Downtown Austin is the hip, hip part of Austin. You name it, it's in walking distance: bars, restaurants, art, music, parks, the lake, the Convention Center, UT the Capital... Across the street is the Saltillo Plaza where there is a fantastic farmers' market every weekend with live music. Speaking of live music, it's everywhere here. My favorite, the world famous White Horse Saloon, a 30 second walk, has the best honky-tonk dancing. The countless restaurants are fantastic with a food trailer park also just down the street. This home is one block over from famous 6th st, with all it's vibrant energy. Walk down to Lady Bird Lake and watch the largest urban population of bats take flight when the sun goes down. There is really just too much to list here, all in walking distance, or if you'd rather, take a pedi-cab; they're caddy corner from here. You'll love it.

Just about everything you want to do can be walked to, but the light rail train station is directly across the street (it's really silent) so is the bus stop. You're so close to everything though, that you won't need the light rail; I've never even set foot on it. The pedi-cab home base is caddy corner, and you'll never be at a loss for a cab. Two covered, gated parking spots on the grounds are yours. The airport is a 10-15 minute drive away. I-35 is a 2 minute drive away. You can rent a bike for $25/day from Pedal Pushers just a 2 minute walk away.

There is only one bed in the house (king-size temerpedic and way, way comfortable), though there is also an inflate-a-bed under the bathroom sink downstairs and the sofa too makes for a comfortable sleep.

I may be out of town, but my sister-in-law Mari lives just down the street and will be happy to set you up and give you the low down on the city. Please contact her to set up accommodations (phone number hidden).
Most of my renters are couples looking to explore the city. My home is absolutely perfect for that; the ideal launching point to take in the city and great retreat to come back to at the end of the day. I am proud to say that I am have never gotten anything other than a perfect rating and rave reviews from every guest who has ever come to stay as well as a "Super Host" award from AirBnB. I'm sure you will be just as happy here.

Bar B-Q /picnic area

I am often in town during your stay. If I'm not, my brother lives just down the street. He and his wife are more than happy to help you should you need anything.

Beautiful condo in a great location. Mario's place was clean, comfortable, and filled with lots of really cool art. The bed was incredibly comfortable. It was great having our own parking spot behind a locked gate, but the neighborhood felt very safe throughout our stay. We absolutely loved the location. Super close to tons of bars, restaurants, food trucks, and shops. Also really close to downtown. We had a great experience and would absolutely stay here again.

Mario's apartment is not only in an amazing location but it one of the coolest and coziest lofts I have ever stayed in. I really felt at home here!

Mario's place is great. It is a quick and pleasant walk (15 minutes) into downtown, or you can ride the train one stop. I was able to book with him very quickly and he was responsive as my trip schedule changed. I'd be happy to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone wanting a place right near the heart of downtown Austin, but without all the noise!

Exactly as pictured, modern but full of character, near tons of interesting food and nightlife and a quick cab to downtown. Was a comfortable, convenient landing pad for checking out the city. Mario was extremely helpful in providing directions for staying at his home as well as suggestions for spending time in Austin even though he did not happen to be in town when we were.

Mario was super responsive and we had a great time at his townhouse. It's within walking distance of great food trucks and bars and a quick Fasten ride to everything else. The house has a ton of character, great artwork, a killer view and great natural light. We will definitely be back!

Hello! I'm a pilot in the airlines and Air Force Reserves. Being gone as often as I am, I figured putting my home up could make for a win-win situation for everybody. Please kick back and make yourselves at home.
