If you've never been to Brooklyn, welcome- you will love it! The neighborhood, Park Slope is a very easy, relaxed place to base your NYC trip. Every convenience is within a few blocks of the apartment (gourmet and cheap groceries, drugstore, post office, gyms, restaurants, shopping). Prospect Park is 2 blocks away. We have several great cafes within 1-4 blocks, including Almondine french bakery just downstairs from us. Barbes, down the block, is one of Brooklyn's best bars for music. The F and G trains are 20 steps from the door, and will take you directly to or near most of the fun neighborhoods in Brooklyn (5-20 minutes) and Manhattan (20-40 minutes). The R train is 2 1/2 blocks away. You can also easily walk through many of Brooklyn's loveliest neighborhoods within 30 minutes of the apartment. BAM, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and the Saturday farmers market are all within within a 20-30 minute walk.
The apartment is clean, cozy, charming with great renovated bathroom and kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, gas stove). I live here with a small dog who will greet you heartily at the door but then quietly curl up at your feet as you relax after a busy NYC day.
This is a private bedroom in my 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. The room has a full/double bed, a closet with plenty of coat hangers and a desk with a set of drawers for clothes. There is an iron and ironing board if needed. The bedrooms are on the opposite ends of the apartment, so privacy is not an issue.
There are laundry services within 1 block and a laundromat 2 blocks away. There are UPS and Fedex locations within 1 block. If you are driving, parking in the neighborhood is manageable, depending on your schedule, and generally safe.
No smoking. Any damage or excessive cleaning will be deducted from the security deposit.
This was my first AirBnB experience and it was a great one. Kakee and her apartment are absolutely delightful. The place is spotless (which was is important to me) and very stylishly decorated. The place looks lovely in the pictures and even lovelier in the flesh.
It's nicely situated superclose to the F and G lines, the 5th Street and 7th Street shopping strips and not too far away from the Atlantic terminal.
Gunther, Kakee's dog, won my heart and I was sad to leave him.
Kakee was the perfect host, giving me plenty of space. She was also happy for me to be there all day or out all day.
I highly recommend Kakee, Gunther and the beautiful apartment.
Kakee was a wonderful host! It felt like coming to visit a friend... Her apartment is absolutely beautiful, well ventilated and was extremely clean and the location of the apartment is just wonderful. I will definitely return if I ever need a place to stay in Brooklyn!
Thank you, Kakee (and Gunther!)

I'm originally from Virginia but have lived in Brooklyn, which I love dearly, for much of my adult life. I lived in the Netherlands for 2 years and have done a lot traveling internationally and within the US. I am a design researcher and teacher. I live with a charming mini-schauzer (dog) who loves visitors.
