Located in one of the most beautiful villages in Montenegro, with views to the mountain Vojnik, two lakes, and with canyoning, hiking and biking trails - enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and fresh air at any season.
The atmosphere of the village, located at 1,000m height, is great for winding down of work pressures and hectic city life. Pošćenje is easily accesible from the main road, but all you see and feel is the authentic village atmosphere, with the best of nature around. On YouTube look for our film "Etno selo Nevidio".
Ask for recommendations by Gaso, your host, to secure guided canyoning in the last conquered Canyon in Europe, "Nevidio", which you can also reach hiking. Beautiful flora on the way...From the village start well marked hiking and biking trails - one of them is the national Top Trail no. 4 for mountainbiking, called "So Scenic" - for a good reason.
Interaction with Guests
Hosted by Gaso and his staff, you will be warmly welcomed. You can count with best tips for hiking, biking and climbing in the region, introduction to home made food, made of local and regional ingredients. Gaso was the leader of the 1st ex-Yugoslavian expedition to Mount Everest in 1996. You can ask him for a retro style dia show about the trip... - or any other experiences of mountaineering made across the World.
An unspoilt village with a lot of stories to tell - living in its own rhythm, and far away from traffic jams and noise. About 15 families live here throughout the year. The nature around is stunning, and depending on the time of year and light, it always looks different. (By the way: If you don´t read cyrillic letters, the sign of Pošćenje looks like "Nowhere"...;=).
With public buses, you can get here from the coast in about 3 hours, and the bus lines between Podgorica-Nikšić-Žabljak work several times a day - taking about 2 hours (Podgorica) - 20 minutes to/from Žabljak. You can also get here by car from the Moraća side, turning onto a panoramic road towards Žabljak, from the main road between Podgorica - Kolašin - Bijelo Polje - Belgrade.

Very quiet place!
Beautiful bungalows in the mountains of Montenegro!
Very warm welcome, even though we arrived quite late. Impressive location, close to the canyon. The cottage was clean and simple. The little bench to sit outside in front of each cottage was lovely to enjoy the sun.
Special thanks to Miljana and her father for helping us with our luggage problem.
We can recommend this place.
The fish in the restaurant was yummy.
Great stay at quite a unique place. We stayed for 2 nights to visit zabljak, the black lake and the tara river canyon. Which are about 20-30 minutes away.
There's also a nice very narrow canyon close by where you can go canyoning. We didn't because we have a baby.
Communication with miljana went very smooth. Communication with the people at the site was a bit more difficult because there weren't many people speaking English very well. But they were very friendly for sure.
Had some nice meals. Would very much recommend the fish. Of which I don't remember the name.
Very pretty houses on the outside, very basic but comfortable on the inside. We both slept well there, the scenery is stunning in the local area and just as fantastic everywhere else. The listing for this property is accurate and we would stay here again, in fact we wished we had stayed for more than 2 nights. We didn't have much interaction with the owner as none of us spoke the same languages, but we slept well, ate well and drank well. It's very close to the Nevidio canyon(15 minutes walk) so the location is perfect if you plan to take a trip down that.
The montaineering huts are truly authentic in picturesque surroundings. The rooms and beds are very simple but good for a few nights.
The mountaineering village was literally in "Nowhere" :-) and we loved this region. It is the perfect location to start trips to the Tara canyon, the Nevido canyon, to drive along the beautiful Sedlo pass route, etc. And actually, it would be a very quiet place away from any bustle -- if there were not the barking dogs which bark all night and rest during the day... The apartments were basic but authentic (note that there are only twin rooms, no double beds, but that's ok). The restaurant was great but we just read now that there would have been breakfast included. This was not communicated well enough, so we missed it. Anyway, if the barking-dog-problem is solved, we would definitely come back next time again!
Dear Martin, thank you for your feedback.
I am so sorry about breakfast, we thought that you are inform about everything that is included in price.
Also, we are trying to do something with dogs but there are a lot of them in whole village.
We are waiting for you! :)
Hi, am daughter of Gaso Lalovic, the owner of the "Etno Selo Nevidio", an authentic place to stay in the magnificent mountains of Montenegro. My father is since 1970s active in mountaineering, and he is a member of the 1st club "Javorak" in Niksic, Montenegro. He was in the 1st team to go to the Mt. Everest in 1996 - you can read some of that in Jon Krakauer´s famous book "Into Thin Air". This place in the small and beautiful village "Poscenje" is only 10min walk from one of the natural beauties of Montenegro - the Canyon Nevidio. I study Journalism in the capital of Montenegro, Podgorica. I also like climbing, traveling. About ten years ago, I was on the mountain Elbrus.
