Il Giardino del Bobolino is one of the most beautiful public parks of Florence. It borders the Piazza di Porta Romana and the Villa del Poggio Imperiale, skirting the edge of the Viale Machiavelli, which leads to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Adjacent to his older brother as well as famous and renowned Boboli Gardens is a green corner for a few close friends, one of the magical places in Florence for several reasons. Five minutes from the Ponte Vecchio and the areas of San Frediano and Santo Spirito, Bobolino is the ideal place to spend your evenings, sitting on a bench to talk, but in the middle of town surrounded by greenery and coolness, in a quiet corner of paradise urban.
It consists of grassy slopes, stairs, fountains and yards of gravel with special green design solutions, such as integrated seats with the flowerbeds, artificial caves and pools. In the middle part of the garden is Villa Cora, where he stayed the Empress Eugenie and the Russian composer Tchaikovsky. At the bottom, next to the garden, there are some local greenhouses. In the garden a small village, built at the end of the 800 as a residence for the families of officers returning from the First World War. It was constructed according to the dictates century architecture, decorations and references to Art Nouveau. Inside the village the old stables of the court of the Pitti Palace, the Chapel of Our Lady of Peace and the Art Institute of Florence. Two small squares decorate the church.

We were four people staying here recently for three nights. Antonello was away during our stay but Alessandra came to meet us and check us in. The apartment is up a few flights of stairs with no elevator. It is a split level apartment. On the first floor there is a kitchen/dining room/lounge area, the 1st bedroom (single bed) with an adjoined toilet/shower and then a veranda out the back with a small table to sit and watch over the garden as well as a washing machine. Bonus was the exercise bike which was great to work off some pizza! Up a narrow flight of stairs is the second floor. Here you will find the second bathroom/toilet, 2nd bedroom (double bedroom) and a lounge area with a a fold out couch to sleep more people. The bathroom has a spa bath and a window ceiling so you can see the sky whilst relaxing in the bath. There are some very cool features of this house such as the exposed wooden beams on the ceiling. If you are arriving by train with lots of luggage I would suggest to get a taxi as it is not a very common place for tourists to stay and is located in a bit of a hilly area. Once you arrive you will have no problems to make your way around - 15 minutes walk to ponte vecchio and beautiful gardens surrounding. If you are interested in getting one of those bus tours around the city you can get on and off the bus at the stop up the road. if you are focused on a prime location with an authentic feel this place rocks. They have most amenities at the apartment but would't hurt to check if there is something particular you are expecting. You will need to pay city tax upon arrival per person per night and if you want towels and bed sheets this will also cost another 10 Euro per person. There were a few mosquitos during the stay so i would recommend to pay the extra 10 Euro per day for the use of the aircon so you can close the place up (if you are there in the hotter months). Cool places to eat during your stay in Florence are All'Antico Vinaio and La Prosciutteria - awesome food - cheap prices. Thank you for a good stay Anotonello.
I stayed in the apartment with my husband for four nights it was perfect for us. The location was very attractive right next to the park, it was very quiet and relaxing. The location is away from the busy centre of Florence but still within walking distance. There is also a bus at the end of the road which will take you into the centre of Florence if you don't want to walk.
Although the apartment can accommodate five people with the use of the sofa bed I would say it is the perfect size for 2-3 adults or a small family.
We would definately stay here again if we come back to Florence.
Put aside wrong bus given (had a good tour of city, especially the overall view of the city on hill top made a very good impression), dirty toilet, wireless internet was not working, the rest are OK. Antonello was nice to book me a dentist though I could not made it in the end. Location is good.
Na arrived home at 8.30 AM (instead of 2 PM); that's why toilet was
"dirty" at arrival and was cleaned before she came back home, in the
afternoon. Guest wi-fi was not working that weekend, so Na used my private
iPhone-connection. About the bus, she phoned me (quite early in the
morning) as she was not able to find the way home from the bus stop (some
300 mt), so I went there and picked her up with my car.
