The Six Bells is a country inn in the Hudson Valley, inspired by English and American countryside. Featured in Architectural Digest and honored as a 2025 Great Design Hotel Winner, it’s a storybook you can sleep in—a historic three-story with eleven guest rooms, riverside restaurant, and shop. In shades of burnt sienna, Gable’s Hollow brims with autumn warmth. Tucked on the third floor, it features a four-poster king bed, hand-painted wardrobe, and wingback chair lit by an antique lamp.

The space
Gable’s Hollow brims with the warmth and abundance of autumn. Tucked away on the Inn’s third floor, the room features a four-poster king-sized bed, hand-painted wardrobe, and wingback chair lit by an antique-inspired lamp. This cozy corner room is inspired by Barrow’s Green in fall, when the maples turn, the children make corn dollies at the local primary school, and many a villager can be found dancing wildly by the creek in Gable’s Hollow.

Every year, a debate—often spearheaded by Ursula Lumley—breaks out over whether the harvest festivities are slightly too occult in nature.

We offer all our guests a complimentary breakfast spread daily in the first-floor dining room. Coffee and tea are available all day at no cost and there is a full bar and restaurant on the property.

We offer daily housekeeping, if you wish, at no cost.

Enjoy a drink, a bite or get some work done on our expansive rear deck overlooking the Rondout Creek

Stroll the lovely Main Street of Rosendale, a charming village with cafe's, restaurants and little stores

We are a short walk or drive to many hiking trails and in the shadow of the famous Rosendale Trestle, part of the Rail to Trail network from Kingston to Wallkill

If you like hiking and swimming, we are minutes from Minnewaska State Park and The Mohonk Preserve

For more history and village life, we are a short drive from New Paltz and Kingston

Our small restaurant, The Feathers, a tavern and restaurant will feature meals inspired by early American cuisine, deeply rooted in the culinary history of the region and is open Wed-Sun from 5pm-8:30pm and for Brunch on Sat-Sun from 10am-2pm

Guests may check in online in advance and simply collect their keys at the welcome desk or check in upon arrival with our staff.

There are no controlled hours, we only request that you be respectful of other guests staying in the Inn after bedtime and before breakfast

Other things to note
We are delighted to share that we do welcome pets. There is a $75 fee per visit, so you’re free to bring along your four-legged companions to enjoy the charm of the inn right alongside you.
