In the middle of the Wadden area is this former Reformed church converted into a recreational residence. Although the space has been modernized, all the characteristic elements have been preserved. From the beautiful beam constructions of the roof to the Art Deco stained glass windows. In addition, there are several works of art to admire in the hall.

Within 20 minutes, you are in Leeuwarden or on the boat to Ameland. From the nearby dike, you can see Terschelling or Ameland.

The space
We work with a summer and a winter rate. This is because it can be cold in the church hall during the winter months. Heating of the church hall is possible in part and for an additional fee by means of infrared heating and a wood-burning fireplace. Stoov blankets are also available. The bedroom and bathroom can be well heated with infrared panels, even in the winter months, at no extra charge.

We have realized a stay for two people in the middle of the church hall. This spacious double room overlooks the organ. In this room is also the bathroom, complete with shower and toilet. With the infrared heat panels on the ceiling, which also provide lighting, it is also pleasant to spend time in the winter.

In the church room there is a long dining table and a large kitchen unit with all the necessities to prepare some treats. With the TV on the pulpit (85 inches), you can enjoy a real home theater from the lovely sofa. You can also use the sound system to listen to your favorite music or of course take a dance, because you have the space to yourself.

Furthermore, you can walk directly into the garden from the church room, where there is a private seat and you can relax in the hammock.

In the second bedroom there is a sofa bed that can accommodate two more people (who have to love each other very much;). Also the office is free for use and comes with high speed internet.

Other things to note
In winter and in strong winds it can be cold in the church! We have heating options and will do everything we can to make it as comfortable as possible, but it remains a large space. Electric underfloor heating and infrared heating above the sofa is available and can be used for a fee. Sufficient heating is possible in bedrooms/bathrooms (and free to use).

It is also advisable to bring extra wood for the wood stoves, we will ensure that a first supply is available for you upon arrival.

It is important to know that Oude Bildtzijl does not have a supermarket. We therefore recommend to do some grocery shopping before your stay. This is possible in both Stiens and St. Annaparochie, both 10 minutes away by car.

Within 5 minutes' walking distance of the church, you will find brasserie Wad Noflik where you can have lunch or cafe/restaurant Het Grauwe Paard for dinner or for a drink.
