Sunny, quaint house in the heart of Mid City. Only a 15 minute bikeride to the Quarter, Bywater or Uptown. And just a few blocks away from popular local bars and restaurants, the bayou, City Park, Canal St. Car and central bus lines.
The home is a 2-bedroom creole cottage with all it's original architecture. The large bedroom has a queen bed and can accommodate a couple comfortably (or just yourself if you like the extra room). The second room is a nursery-sized room with a twin-sized bed to maximize the space. There are two futons, both of which can be pulled out to accommodate up to two additional guests.
The furniture has all been curated from yard and estate sales throughout the city, and the art on the walls have been either gifted or purchased from local New Orleans artists. Situated in the heart of mid city, it's just a short walk to the Bayou, Fairgrounds and Canal st. car line.
Fully equipped kitchen and appliances, fridge space, television with basic cable, wireless internet, washer/dryer, games and bicycles rentable, for a fee!
Renting the entire house will give you full reign of the space! I will be present at check-in and check-out only, if schedules allow.
I'm 2 miles or less from EVERYTHING in the city (Mid City is not just a clever name). The house is a duplex, and is shared with a really nice, quiet guy. The neighborhood itself is lively and friendly. Kids are usually playing outside and I know all my neighbors. It can get a little loud during the day and early evening, but everyone is respectful and turns their music off for bedtime!
The Canal/ Carrollton St car lines are a few blocks away. I'm also located about 4 blocks away from the Broad bus, which is a central line. I find that biking is the easiest way to get anywhere (can be rented for an additional fee), but I work near the Quarter and usually walk home on sunny days, which takes me about 30 minutes, if I walk slowly.
I have a small, clean, hypoallergenic dog (yorkie) that will be present if you choose to rent only one room. She is friendly, doesn't bite, and will most likely just want a playmate! She will bark initially, but gives up after a few minutes.

We had a nice stay at Jessica's over NY's- me and 3 of my girlfriends. Jessica was a GREAT host- she greeted us with champagne and homeade cookies. WHO DOES THAT?
The apartment was everything she said it was- we had plenty of room and heaters (it was very cold), and it's centrally located. It's very close to one of the best poor boy sandwich places in the city- the Parkway! I found a couple of cool cafes about a 15-minute walk away, so you do have to work a bit to walk somewhere interesting. We skipped bikes and cabbed it a lot (the cold made us lazy).
The place served our needs fine. But our needs were pretty basic- a place to crash, really. So a few things to be aware of for this place- I found the neighborhood to be fine, but 'fine' here does include it being really run down and in a part of town that numerous people we talked to were pretty surprised to hear we were staying in. I'm from Oakland, so I don't get freaked out by neighborhoods that look rough around the edges.
The apartment itself comfortable but pretty beat up; everything in it is old and run down. Jessica cleaned it well, but I know for clean freaks this would be a no-go.
So I say, know your standards- and if they jive with mine, this place is a GREAT deal!
