We are a 20 minute drive to one of 2 National Parks in Hawaii, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau which offers field trips and programs related to ancient Hawaii. It is referred to as City of Refuge as in olden times it was used to harbor ancient peoples and royalty from their enemies. The other national park is on the east side of the island (Hawaii Volcano National Park). Our island is very unique with rainforests, a desert, an active volcano on the east end of the island, two world known mountains of Mauna Loa and Mauna Kea, beautiful beaches and a multitude of farms filled with exquisite orchids, fresh vegetables, coffee fields, macademia nut farms and many exotic plants. A L O H A,
My husband Kevin and I were both born and raised in Kona. I am of Portugese decent, the third generation born and raised here! Kevin is Asian and his dad was born in Kona and his mom was born and raised on Maui. Kevin is a sponge for trivia and detail, will be able to answer most of anyone's questions. Kevin is now retired after working for the state for 33 years. He is now working on his "honey do" list that is quite extensive!. I am a registered nurse involved with home health for many years. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their homelands and cultures. I have a passion for raising orchids and have a collection of about 100. I am an avid cook, dabbling in many ethnic cuisines. I also enjoy sewing and many crafts. We share our home with Prissy a 9 year old Shit Tsu who has Kevin wrapped around her paw. She is a tiny thing and is friendly, calm and quiet. She loves laying in the morning sun and belly rubs are her weakness. I have a grown daughter and son who both reside on this island. I am grannie to 3 granddaughters and 2 step grandsons. We look forward to sharing our home and aloha with all who are looking for a relaxing fun filled vacation on our beautiful island. You will enjoy your private space here. Just call upon us with any needs and questions.
