Unfortunately we feel this review was left not as factual representation about the room, but as retribution by the guest Belle.
For example, she states "The neighborhood itself has a smell to it, and not a pleasant one." Really? the neighborhood has a smell? You can read reviews for 3 years for multiple rooms at this location, and you will never see this mentioned. It doesn't even make sense.
Belle stayed with a dog that would bark and whine when left alone. She would tend to leave him alone late at night on Fridays and Saturdays. We tried to work with her on this issue, but she refused to accept that her dog did so, even though we provided time stamped video recordings. We had a number of other guests complain, and had to refund one for his stay.
We filed a resolution request to have Belle pay for it, but Airbnb Support contacted us and Airbnb said they would pay us for the cost of reimbursing the other guest, and they would contact Belle and ask her to please deal with her dog after that appropriately. Belle sent us an angry message after that, and we are pretty sure that is the motivation for her bad review.
As a final note, you will see that she stayed in our place for 32 days, and we offered her a full refund of unused dates with no penalty twice. So if it was so bad, and other places around were so much cheaper, it is strange she decided to stay here for 32 days, isn't it?
