About This Listing
Small private room in Belmont walking distance to Oracle & CalTrain, great for commuters. Basic cable, DSL internet, washer/dryer, shared bathroom, backyard. Chill household, no hard drugs, 420 OK. Must like dogs. Not fancy, just functional.
This is not your average Vanilla home. I enjoy a quiet, drama free, relaxed lifestyle and environment. You can relax in the backyard, BBQ with a friend, play ball with the dogs, or just hang out in your room and read, watch TV/movies, or web surf on your computer with the high speed wireless internet. It's really like visiting an old friend from high school--when you stay here, you're part of the family. However, the house is old, so it has it's quirks! You can't run the washer, dryer and coffee maker at the same time, the bathtub is stained from years of wear and tear, some of the doors aren't painted, there is the occasional cobweb or rolling dog hair dust bunny...so if you are looking for pristine, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a comfy, cozy living space, welcome home.
You have access to entire house and backyard, plus everything in it except for the living room TV (unless I'm not home). If you'd like to sit and watch TV with me great, but we'll have to agree on the show :-) You have your own TV, cable box, and Netflix in your room. If you buy movies, I expect payment immediately after you buy them. If you cook, you will need to clean up after yourself, but we do have a compact dishwasher that I'll teach you how to use. There is street parking only-please DO NOT park in the driveway!!!
Interaction with Guests
I like chatting and having a glass of wine or sharing a meal, but I also like my alone time. This house is small so we are bound to interact here and there :-) However, if you're in your room with the door closed, your privacy is always respected. I have a very active social life so I am gone a lot. If you are interested, perhaps we can go out together! I enjoy dancing, seeing burlesque shows, live music, fire eating, karaoke, and so much more.
This is a great neighborhood, with quiet, nice neighbors, at the end of a court. AND it's next door to Oracle. There are restaurants, bars, coffee houses, and a Safeway all within walking distance of the house. There is also an Off the Grid food truck night a few blocks away every Monday, and a Farmer's Market every Sunday! It is safe to walk or bicycle day or night.
If you ride CalTrain, the Belmont station is two blocks away. You can ride the train to BART in Millbrae to get across the bay or further north if you need to. If you are going somewhere local I may be able to give you a ride as well.
Other Things to Note
I travel a lot for work, so I may not be here when you arrive, but don't worry, you'll have full access to the house. If you're willing to care for the dogs (which is simply feeding them twice a day, giving them water, and letting them in the house at night--no poop duty or walks required) you'll have the place to yourself.
If you would rather not care for the dogs it's no problem, but there will be someone else staying at the house to care for them.
If you stay here, the rules are simple: Do not park in the driveway and please be an adult. No late night noise on weeknights, no heavy partying, no hard drugs--420 is OK, I don't smoke but I don't care if you do, as long as you smoke outside. I'm a professional who works from home when not traveling, so please be respectful of me and the neighbors regarding noise. I will do the same for you! If you are coming here to party hard in SF then expecting a place to crash when you're completely wasted, please don't bother renting with me. If you're buzzed and having fun, great! I just might join you! However, if you are so intoxicated that you can't walk and/or are vomiting all over the place or violent, you can expect to have your stay cut short.
Small closet with your own clean washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels, plus extra storage above.
Casey's property is, in my opinion, the best accommodation anyone can get when in the area. If the question is whether the profile is accurate, I would say it sure is, and in fact much more than what were stated. It is an extremely good catch and I will recommend it to anybody, anytime.
To begin, it is unbelievably near to the train station, which basically allows you to be very mobile even if you don't have a car. Granted, Belmont is not a big station, so the train stops there less often. But as long as you watch the schedule, you can get to anywhere without much trouble; tested and proven.
The next best part about Casey's place is the abundance of food options: American, Chinese, Japanese, Indian, you name it, all within walking distance. Again, this is a huge plus if you do not have a car. In addition, there are Safeway and Walgreen close by where all bare necessities and beyond can be taken care of.
While it may not seem so from the photos, there is actually lots of space in the room, more than enough for me to stay comfortably for a month. On top of that, Casey's house is really spacious, definitely more than your money's worth.
About Casey's lovely dogs, Chance and Onyo, dog lovers you are in luck if you book this property, because Casey's dogs are the best. I may not be a dog owner myself, but I have had much experience with doggies, and let me reiterate, Chance and Onyo are simply the best. Even if you do not fancy dogs, heed my words, try out Casey's place still. You may change your mind on the animal afterwards. I really think there is hardly anywhere else where you can find dogs that are so friendly, so obedient, and so cute.
I guess I have said much, and have probably lost much attention at this point. So, for summary, I enjoyed my stay a lot and I think Casey's place is comparable, if not better than most hotels in the area. Please, make there your stay the next time you are going to the bay area.
Casey was a really helpful and friendly host.
Everyone has it's own privacy, it was like a flat share - that was really comfortable.
And Casey has very cute dogs!
Belmont is a very secure city with a great shoppingfacility and a lot of diners.
Casey's house is near to the caltrain station (5 min).
We had a great time in Belmont/San Francisco!
Great place. Perfect location, close to caltrain station, oracle and all sorts of stores. Casey is a great host and her dogs are really nice. The room is great as well with a lot of shelfs to organise your stuff. All in all a good experience.
Casey is just awesome. It's really a cool and relaxed place to stay. Staying at here house was a lot of fun and I can recommend everyone who wants to stay at a place where you can have your privacy if you like and also have some really great talks with your host about "god and the world" (as we Germans would say :-)).
The house and the room are clean and have everything you need. I only took me a couple of days to feel like home :-)
The location in Belmont is also great, because it's just a 3 minutes walk away from the Caltrain to go to the City and the 101 to go everywhere else. There are also some supermarkets and restaurants within a 5 minutes walk. I felt very comfortable and save in the neighborhood.
I had an amazing time with Casey. I just loved her spirit. She is very attentive to her guest making sure all needs are met. I am missing Casey, Onyo and of course my buddy Chance. I wish I could of stayed longer, but maybe next time... MISSING MY BELMONT FAMILY....
