A lovely room for 1 in a well decorated apartment with lots of character! Cole Valley is a quiet, safe, central neighborhood with many shops and restaurants nearby. The Haight is a short walk, as is Golden Gate Park. Many transportation options!
Bright private bedroom in Edwardian flat. Bedroom has wood floors with cozy felt carpet tiles, and north facing bay windows that let in light all day. There is a great view of the St. Ignatius Church (on USF's campus). It is furnished with a queen sized bed (linens provided) and small dresser and closet for guest use. Bath towel, wash cloth and a carafe of filtered water is also provided.
**Please note: **This is a 3rd floor walk up, so if you have trouble with stairs, this isn't the place for you. The plus side is the views are great, nice light, and no neighbors above us!
Guests will have full access to the kitchen, dining/lounge room, and living room. The living room gets great light, and also has a very nice north facing view.
A variety of continental breakfast options will be provided, and there will most likely be other food available at times.
Cole Valley is a great neighborhood that is close to many shops and restaurants. Golden Gate Park, Mt. Sutro, Upper Haight St, and the Castro are all within walking distance. There are numerous high quality grocers within walking distance as well.
No car? No problem! The Muni 'N' line stops across the street. You can get downtown (inbound), or to Ocean Beach (outbound) within 15 minutes. There are also multiple bus lines that serve the area. The (phone number hidden) all stop within a few blocks of the apartment.
There is no washer and dryer in the apartment, but there is a laundromat on the corner.
There may be one or two other guests here at the same time, but I only host awesome people!
I look forward to hosting you!
Guests are welcome to enjoy any common area of the apartment, which include the living room, kitchen and dining area.
Interaction with Guests
I am starting my own business, so tend to be a bit busy, but I love getting to know my guests when possible!
Cole Valley is a sweet, safe neighborhood! The train stop is literally across the street, and it will take you downtown within 15min (eastbound), or to Ocean Beach within 15 min heading west.
There are numerous shops and restaurants in Cole Valley, and even more just a short walk to the Upper Haight. There are 4 grocery stores/markets (including a Whole Foods), within a 10 minute walk.
Golden Gate Park is also very close. You can't go wrong with Cole Valley's central location and quiet neighborhood vibe!
The N Judah runs right in front of the apartment. Buses close by are the 6 Parnassus, the 43 Masonic, the 37 Corbett, 33 Stanyan, 7, and I believe others...It is very easy to get to many places in the city via public transportation from Cole Valley
Other Things to Note
Please read the following FAQ!
Can I reserve the room for more than 1?
No, unfortunately I can only have a certain number of people in the apartment, and I am currently only accepting single reservations per room.
Where Can I Park?
I do not have parking at my apartment, so you will have to do street parking, or pay to park at Kezar Stadium, which is a few blocks away. In my neighborhood you have to have a permit to park for more than 2 hours from 8am-6pm M-F. (Some areas are 7am-7pm, so watch the signs!) After 2 hours, you have to move the car about a block. There are some streets a few blocks away that do not require permits, if you wish to leave your car and explore. Be sure to pay attention to street cleaning signs! My neighborhood is safe, but always be smart and don't leave items visible in seats.
Can I bring a pet?
No! No animals are allowed in the building, and many times there are guests with allergies. There are no exceptions to this.
How does your check-in, check-out time work?
I have a flexible check-in/check-out time, however, the rooms generally need to be vacated by 11am to give time to prep for the next guest. If you want to leave your bags in the living room while you explore more, that is fine. There is a lockbox, so if you're arriving late, or at a time when I might not be around, I can give the code & instructions.
Do I need to bring a towel or bedding?
No - that will be provided, as well as basic shower necessities.
Is there an elevator?
No, and I am on the 3rd floor of an old Edwardian flat. This means the stairs are more steep and narrow for the stairs of today. It is a workout, but well worth it, as the apartment gets a lot of great light, and is quiet, because there is no one above me.
Are there restaurants/grocery stores nearby?
Yes! There are many amenities within walking distance!
Is it easy to get around?
Yes! Many places are walkable, and the public transportation is great from Cole Valley. It's also a very central location in the city.
Logistics to make your stay comfortable:
- In order to keep floors as clean as possible, this is a shoes-off apartment
- This is a smoke-free, drug-free, pet-free home. Light drinking is fine, but if you are an extensive partier, this probably isn't the place for you.
- Internet service provided, but no TV
- If you come home late/get up early, please try to be as quiet and respectful as possible. The same courtesy will be extended to you!
- To ensure the comfort and safety of everyone, NO overnight guests are allowed. You are welcome to bring a friend or 2 over briefly to show them the space, get help with luggage, etc., but please do most of your socializing outside of the apartment. (Unless it's socializing with me or other guests!) :)
The room was fine for my overnight stay. Easy access and very good neighborhood.
Other than standing on doorstep 20 minutes waiting for key, great!. Quiet and comfortable.
Beth was there to greet me when I arrived and was very friendly. The room was not quite ready, but it was completely understandable because I arrived pretty early in the morning (it's great that she allows flexible check in times). She was very welcoming and answered the questions I had about getting around the city. I was able to drop off my bags and hit the town.
I was only in town for 1 day, so I was only in the room to sleep, but it was a very comfortable and nice space. She had maps and brochures of attractions available as well as a list of things to do/eat nearby. The neighborhood was in a good location- far enough away from the down town touristy areas. I always enjoy seeing how/where locals live when visiting a new place and this location provided that. There are also a few restaurants and a transit stop right down the street which made it easy to grab a bite and get around the city. It is also located very close to Golden Gate Park which lead to me taking a Sunday morning stroll before I had to head out to the airport. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a place to stay in San Francisco!
Beth made me feel very welcome and was very helpful. The room was bright and spacious as described. Very quick walk to the Parnassus campus of UCSF. I would definitely recommend.
Beth was very welcoming, and made sure I was comfortable and settled after I checked in. She's a thoughtful host with a well-designed space, with nice touches like a fresh bottle of drinking water on the night stand. Her place is really peaceful and quiet, situated in a really fun neighborhood. I had a really pleasant stay with her.
Beth was a wonderful hostess. She greeted me at the door, gave me a tour of her wonderful place and made me feel very welcome. The room was spacious and had an amazing view, plus the bed was amazingly comfortable. Beth's home is a very special place and worth visiting.
My stay at Beth's place was great! The place was clean, the room was nice and with wonderful views. The location was really good (really interesting neighborhood and close to public transport, shops, etc.). And Beth was really helpful with good advice about the city. Highly recommended place!

I am a mid-thirties recent graduate from an interior design and sustainable design program. I enjoy anything sustainable/design/architecture related, DIY, crafting, flea markets, tango dancing, blues dancing (with a sprinkling of swing and salsa), eating healthy, and yoga (including partner & acro-yoga).
I love ethnic food - especially Thai. I enjoy cooking, and will most likely have food to share. I tend to avoid wheat (unless it's sprouted wheat), and don't eat much dairy or sugar, but can still whip up some tasty meals.
I'm ultimately very sensitive to my own needs and to others, and strive to create a harmonious, healthy household. Sometimes we might need some downtime, and space to ourselves, but more than likely I'll be able to create time and space for sharing a meal, playing some music, (I have a guitar, and am hoping to add a ukelele and musical saw to the mix soon), or crafting with a guest(s) open to it! I value open communication, and am very friendly.
I moved to SF from CO in 2006, and am very familiar with the city, and finding unique, affordable activities to enjoy. I will gladly pass on my knowledge to my guests!
