Peter and Jojo were the absolute perfect hosts!! Their home is so spacious and lovely. The were extremely warm and helpful to us - even finding an electrical cord that worked in Ireland for my 87-yr old mother, who travelled with us. They took care of our every need before we even needed it, including our laundry. The Irish breakfast was delicious!! They gave us extensive help in planning our visit to Achill Island, and really made an impact on the quality of our trip! We would absolutely stay with them again!
SuperHost is truly the correct designation for Peter and Georgia at Caste Reek View. To start with, we had gotten a bit turned around in finding their home and Peter IMMEDIATELY came out to meet us and escort us to his home. So that was just the beginning of our wonderful stay there. Our room was clean, spacious and quite comfy. The bathroom was huge! No detail was missed. Peter and Georgia treated us like family - they went above and beyond. And I mean above and beyond. On several occasions, Peter and Georgia graciously volunteered to drive us into town and pick us up. Not only were they hosts, but they were tour guides as well. One very special trip was to Ballintubber Abbey. Peter is an awesome tour guide and knows his history!
Georgia couldn't have been more lovely. Her breakfasts were fit for a king. She truly knows how to spoil you! She was always ready with a pot of tea and delicious treats. But most importantly, she was sincere in making you feel welcome, which she and Peter did incredibly well. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, we entered their front door as strangers but left as friends. Our most sincere thanks go out to Georgia and Peter.
Hi Luann, thank you for the lovely comments, so happy to hear that you enjoyed Ballintubber Abbey, it is a special place to many and to you now also, would love to host you again in the future and please keep in contact, would recommend to other hosts no problem,
Peter & Jojo
Excellent stay with Peter & Jojo. The service was unbelievable. Would highly recommend the stay. They couldn't do enough!
I don't even know where to start reviewing Peter and Jo Jos place. It is without a doubt one of the nicest most welcoming homes I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. My husband and my little boy stayed here for a night and I'm only sorry we weren't there for longer. It wad hole away from home and wad like staying with friends we had known for years. Beautiful home , beautiful people in a beautiful setting. You will not be disappointed if you stay here but you will be disappointed if you don't. You would have to travel the world over to find a place that comes close to what the Kings offer. Amazing simply amazing. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stay. We will be back for sure.
Our stay at Castle Reek view was absolutely lovely and even better than expected. Not only did Peter and Jojo provide great beds, a comfy room with a huge en-suite and a cracking breakfast (complete with local sausages and black-pudding), they also gave us a lot of time and showed us 'round the local area.
Even though the house is about 5 miles outside of Westport, Peter was happy to give us a lift into the town at night to show us the best places for a pint of Guinness. He even offered to pick us up from the pub at 1.30 a.m.!!
The view of Croagh Patrick from the kitchenis a beautiful way to spend the morning as we were fed a breakfast which was to keep us going all the way to the top of the 760m mountain.
The hosts were so friendly and spent a lot of their time to inform us about the local area and the best views and routes around Connemara. I would recommend Castle Reek View to anyone who wants a comfy bed and a tasty breakfast in a lovely location.
What a host! Couldn't ask for any more, it was fantastic. From the moment we arrived we were made feel very welcome and treated more like extended family than guests. Will be back again in the future couldn't fault any aspect of the weekend we spent with the Kings amazing.
Peter and Jojo made us feel really welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was large, light and airy and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also large, with a powerful shower and a great range of full-size toiletries, just in case we had forgotten anything. On our first night, we were included in the family meal (at no additional cost) and Peter also drove us round the area to point out some of the highlights.
The full Irish breakfasts were both delicious and huge - often they carried us through the day without needing any lunch. Peter and Jojo asked us to treat their home as ours and were very generous with details like hot drinks and snacks and were great fun to chat to, telling us all about local events, where to go and local history and people. I am sure that we would not have got nearly so much out of the area without their guidance.
We feel we have made two new friends and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Castle Reek view to anyone.
