  • Nonni is awesome. If you want to explore the south, his friendly home is a great base. My friend fell I'll during our stay and Nonni immediately helped us call the local clinic to set up an appointment. You won't be disappointed.

  • Nonni is the best! Seriously! The owner of this guesthouse is very very friendly and hospitable and he cooks great breakfasts. It was lovely to stay here. We would definitely come back here if we were in Iceland agian!

  • Mr. Nonni was very kind and welcoming to my mother and I. My mother enjoyed staying with Mr. Nonni above all the places we stayed in Iceland. He is very knowledgeable on the area and even helped us plan our last two days in the area. Breakfast was wonderful!

  • Nonni was a great host for our first trip to Iceland. He was able to point us in the right direction on trips and let us know how good/bad the road and weather conditions were. And don't underestimate the value of a good breakfast. The house always smelled like freshly baked breads and there was never a shortage of food in the mornings. We hope to return to Iceland one day and we wouldn't hesitate to stay with Nonni again.

  • Nonni was welcoming and really easy to chat with, the house was cozy and well equipped. Breakfast by Nonni was delicious and he made our trip really enjoyable! Thanks so much again Nonni!

  • Nonni was an excellent host. He is very kind and talkative and we had a couple of very nice breakfasts with him. Speaking of breakfast, the homemade waffles and bread are not to be missed! Nonni was helpful in suggesting restaurants to try and sights to see. There are also pamphlets up on the wall in the kitchen for the standard tourist stuff. The most unbelievable thing though was that he did our laundry for us, which he totally didn't have to do but I appreciate so much because it meant we didn't have to "waste" a morning in a laundromat or something.

The guesthouse is also in a really good location to explore the south from. There is ready access to the "golden circle" sights as well as skogarfoss and seljalandsfoss and also hveragerdi (where I went on one of the best hikes of my life!) The room was also nice, big enough for two people who aren't a couple, and secure as well as each of the doors had their own key.

I highly recommend Guesthouse Nonni if you're in the Hella area!

  • Very comfortable place, and easy to find. Super clean, and Jon (Nonni) is a top-notch host. Breakfast was quite good. I especially enjoyed the fresh baked bread.
Nonni was very helpful with finding a couple of places that we intended to visit. He knows the country and is great to talk to.

    Response from Jón Ragnar:

Thank you Jeff. Glad to hear you could get to the springs. There are so many peculiar places in Iceland, like the land is alive.

Hope you had a good trip to Europe!

  • Nonni is a very caring host! He welcomed us in the kitchen with a warm cup of tea and nice conversations. The rooms were tidy and the bed was very good. It was a pleasure to arrive in the room and see the nicely made bed. Nonni recommended us a walk in Hella which was really enjoyable. The bus stop is very close which made our departure easy. And last but not least, we definitely had the best breakfast of our entire holiday!
