Interaction with guests
Guests have total privacy. I send a text message to check-in once or twice. If guests have questions, I am available by text or phone.
Foot friendly with lots of community gardens, called p-patches! I am in a neighborhood called the Central District (locals call it 'The CD') between the fantastic local eateries and shops in nearby Capitol Hill and Madrona 'hoods.' Like many US cities, the CD neighborhood has both has million dollar homes as well as a homeless population.
Centrally located. High walkability score! Steps to cafes, restaurants. Four buses in a 3 block radius to downtown, Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, Convention Center, Lake Washington, Capitol Hill and the University district.
Other things to note
This is rarely an issue for guests. I do provide a white noise sound blocker and earplugs for the few light sleepers who have been disturbed by noise when the furnace starts. You can also ask me to turn off the furnace (assuming you are warm enough).
I appreciate when guests respect my home and garden. Please be considerate when interacting with my friendly neighbors. Please recycle and be mindful of water and electricity consumption. I am trying to keep a small environmental footprint. I welcome questions about living with a 'light' footprint and living mindfully.
If something is damaged, be sure to let me know prior to leaving so I can fix it in time for the next guests.
No shoes please. No pets please. No smoking. No fragrance (no colognes or perfumes or dryer sheets). Please provide ID for verification.

I enjoy traveling and hosting guests in a modern, sustainable, eco-designed, private, 1 bedroom garden apartment. I am a quiet Ph.D. researcher and documentary film enthusiast. I enjoy sharing my favorite Seattle coffee shops, parks, cinemas, and book stores.
Many of my guests are researchers, filmmakers, designers, writers, academics, artists, musicians, and families visiting relatives. I like meeting fellow independent travelers who enjoy meandering through urban neighborhoods.
