The Space

Ours is a nice little apartment in an amazing location. Its perfect for two couple, a small family or a pair of mates exploring Dublin.
It's two comfortable double rooms, with an open plan living/kitchen/dining room.
There's everything you need for a nice night in or small dinner party, but its the proximity to all of Dublin's best bits that will keep you out and about.

Interaction with Guests

Unfortunately we're away a lot working, so you probably wont meet us. However my great friend Jeanette is your friend in the neighborhood, and she's the best. She's an artist living and working right nearby. Jeanette will welcome you and be your "phone-a-friend" for your stay. Her mobile and details are given after the booking is made.

The Neighborhood

The canal! Good weather or bad. You can walk to the river Liffey, the sea, the docklands area. Everyone that visits Dublin does the obvious city stuff but there's so much other stuff missed. We'll put you in the right direction.
Basically everything is really close, and if you have a Dublin bike card (HIGHLY recommended you get this) the whole city is minutes away. But you're not right in the middle of the noise and crowds.
The dart (train) is around the corner and we recommend day trips to Bray(and Wicklow area) and Howth. Great walks and seaside eateries etc. Jeanette will fill you in on arrival.

Getting around

Dart (Grand Canal Dock), buses, Luas, aircoach to Kildare St.

  • Our family spent our last days in Dublin at Bob's apartment, and we were not disappointed. First, the apartment was plenty big enough for the 4 of us; the washing machine was a blessing, especially with the girls! Secondly, the location was ideal...a 10 minute walk to Trinity College and the city center, a small Spar, a grocery store, across the street and a bus stop on the corner. Plus, Oil Can Harry's, a local pub, was a 2 minute walk. Since Bob was away on assignment, we were met by Jeanette who oriented us with the neighborhood and the apartment. What a wonderful hostess! If you wish to spend quiet evenings, yet be near the hub of activity during the day, Bob's apartment is ideal. We would definitely stay there again.

  • The apartment was in a fabulous location, right beside the canal with easy walking into town and gardens. The hosts were attentive and made us feel very welcome. The apartment was comfortable although a little tired and only surface clean. Great value for inner city locale. We loved our stay. Thanks!!

  • Bob's place was comfy and cozy, and the location was perfect! The bus line was at the end of the drive; the Spar was at the end of the drive. And around teh corner was the best little organic food emporium--Punnet Market. There was a pub 1 block away, and across the canal superb dining at the Schoolhouse. a 15 minute walk puts you in Temple Bar.

Bob and Jeanette were great about checking in with us, and assisting with getting us settled. It was a perfect little place for our 2 weeks trek through the country.

  • We had a wonderful and relaxed time in Dublin, thanks to Jeanette. She was very caring, contact with her was very friendly and uncomplicated. She really tried to make us feel at home. The apartment is near the city center, so we didn`t use the public transport, except for a coast visit. The apartment, especially the kitchen has everything you need, the bedrooms are very comfortable and there is lot of space. i can really recommend the apartment.

  • Bob's apartment was in a fabulous location and easy to find after our 9:30 flight. Jeanette greeted us at the door within seconds of being dropped off in a cab and welcomed us to Dublin with a map and suggestions as to how we could spend our first night in Dublin. We were centrally located to a lot of the Dublin attractions and right across the street from a city bike stall. The apartment was perfect for our short stay and was equipped with some very helpful Ireland/Dublin reference books and an N64! I would certainly reach out to Bob and Jeanette the next time we visit Dublin!

  • We had a wonderful week in Dublin. This apartment is conveniently located just a short walk away from the HopOn/Off bus, the National Gallery, The Dead Zoo, Trinity College - a great, central, and safe location. It is a bright and cheerful space, even on a typically cold and wet Dublin day! Lots of storage for clothes, and the kitchen is equipped for whatever cooking you might want to do. We would stay again!

  • Thanks Jeannette for your lovely welcome and smile.
We spent an amazing trip in Dublin and the flat of Bob has really contributed to it.
Thanks Bob, your flat is cosy, we felt like at home, the kitchen is well organised and everything you need as basic staff is already there.
Perfect location: we never used public transport expect for the airport which was really practical.
We hope to come back and we will advice this flat.

  • Bob and Jeanette are very nice and friendly, the communication was excellent and Jeanette welcomed us warmly. Thanks again.
The appartment is nice and well located, a 15 or 20 minutes walk from the city centre, it's not noisy.
The only thing that annoyed me a bit was that the bed of the main bedroom was not very good for my back. But still I would be back at Bob's. It was a good experience and I definitely recommend it.

About
I travel a lot for work so my apartment is often available. I work in TV/Film as a freelance Producer/Director & Presenter. I've done travel series for Irish TV and recently on Travel Channel (The Ethical Hedonist). I'm currently running The Ethical Volunteer with my partner Sarah. We love experiencing new cultures. I'm sorry I won't be here to meet people as we rent the entire place so we're usually away, but occasionally we'll be here. My friend Jeanette is helping me out with arrivals and departures, she's based across the street, so you'll have a friend in the neighborhood. Jeanette is an artist.
