We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay in Middlebury. The location was perfect - an easy 10 - 15 minute walk to and from the center of town but far enough away to feel like a quiet oasis.
From the beginning, Paul was responsive to messages and texts and on arrival both he and Mary quickly made us feel at home.
The room was very comfortable and spacious with a large bathroom and lovely sitting area which was perfect for working on my laptop. Our hosts had made sure that we had everything we might possibly need - a basket of toiletries in case we'd forgotten something, fluffy towels and washcloths, water, a fan for the warm nights.
We loved the beautiful breakfast tray that was delivered to our door in the morning and really appreciated having everything we needed to make our own tea or coffee.
Paul and Mary provided us with great tips such as where to eat late on a Sunday evening and where to find a lake or swimming hole to cool off in, which unfortunately we didn't have time to explore on this trip.
Together they have created a beautiful and inspiring home filled with Paul's amazing handmade furniture. We feel honored that they are willing to share it with strangers. We would definitely return if we were to find ourselves in Middlebury again, which no doubt we will as we absolutely loved what we saw of Vermont and would love to explore it further.
This was our first Airbnb stay and it exceeded our expectations. Paul and Mary were superb hosts, and they made us feel welcomed right from the start. Our room was large, comfortable, and clean. The breakfast Mary served in the morning was homemade and delicious.
We could not have asked for anything more. This airbnb is in a beautiful neighborhood, close to town, quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay at A sunny room with porch. This was our first experience booking a room on Air B&B and it was a total success. Paul and Mary were very welcoming and friendly and put us at ease from the start. Our room was clean and comfortable and the little porch where I sat and read my book was an added bonus. We felt very comfortable staying here.Since we were tired from traveling, we did not interact with the host, we just relaxed in the room. And in the morning , Mary had hot coffee and warm muffins waiting for us outside our bedroom door. Very nice... Anyone traveling to Middlebury, Vt. this is the place to stay.
Paul and his wife were wonderful hosts. We felt at home and truly enjoyed our stay. We felt like part of the family after just one stay. Breakfast was delightful and the company was splendid. A great stay!
The reservation was canceled 10 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
This was my second stay with Paul and Mary, and my husband's first. We loved being with them; they are kind and gracious and made us feel totally at home. The room itself is spacious and comfortable, with a sunny sitting area for breakfast (and a small fridge and microwave) and a large bathroom. The house is in a nice neighborhood with easy walking access both to beautiful hiking trails on Chipman Hill and to the village of Middlebury. A great home away from home!
Wonderful setting very close to downtown Middlebury. The accommodations were really comfortable and picturesque. They really paid attention to the details and the light breakfast was a nice touch.
