Our home is situated in the heart of Galway City.
From the bus/coach/train station you can walk to our home in 3 minutes.
Your room is furnished with a double bed, bedside table and tall boy with side lamps, double hanging wardrobe with shelf and a chair. You will have access to the main bathroom with power shower, living room and kitchen.
In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, takeaways, bars and shops all within walking distance. The closest off street parking can e found at QPark and Hynes Yard car parks, accessed from Merchants Road. We benefit from free on street parking between 6:30pm to 8:30am.
We enjoy sharing time with our guests, time permitting. Our interests and activities include: Permaculture, 5Rhythms dance, cooking, and more.
We have a local late night bistro, a great place for a bite to eat or a glass of wine.
You will find live music in most of the local bars.
Located just off Eyre Square. There are extensive train, coach and local bus connections available.
We live in an apartment block with no parking. There are parking facilities nearby. There is on street parking but you'd have to pay for it.
On the attached link you'll see there's a few locations with all day parking for €4.
One street away from us is an indoor car park. I believe it's €9 for 24 hours and €7 if you can show a student ID.
We had a nice stay. But I have to say the place looks a lot nicer and cleaner on the pictures then it actually is.
The location is really central, which does make it hard to sleep due with an open window on saturday night due to noise drunk people in the street. But if your going out yourself, that shouldn't be a problem ;-)
When we arrived, the bedroom was clean and tidy and Spencer gave us a very friendly welcome The apartment is conveniently located beside High Street, it's literally a 5 minute to walk to the pubs, shopping places and the restaurants. It's also 10 minutes away from the coach station.
It was a very happy stay for us and would recommend this to anyone.
My friend and I visited Galway for two days in the month of September 2013 and had the pleasure of staying with Spencer and Paul. When we arrived into the city, Paul was kind enough to show us around the city and provided us with great information about Galway and Ireland. The apartment was clean and location was great (close to everything including the bus station). Both Spencer and Paul are very friendly, great to talk to and wonderful host. I would have no hesitations in recommending them to future guest.
We had a really pleasant stay. Our hosts were very friendly and provided useful information (what to see and how to get around).
Every morning, Spencer prepared breakfast for us. The room and the facilities were well equipped and tidy.
The bedroom in which I stayed was clean and well-kept. Ditto the bathroom (and there was plenty of hot water, which is sometimes not the case in my experience). Breakfast was provided. The place was very centrally located and easily accessible. Very good experience. I would happily recommend the place to others.
Fantastic location, extremely friendly host. We couldn't ask for a better experience in Galway.
Our brief stay with Spencer and Paul was fantastic. Both hosts were accommodating and genial, from the moment Spencer spotted us on the street struggling with a wayward suitcase until he prepared a tasty breakfast for us early the next morning before we ran to the bus station. I highly recommend their place; it's gorgeous and centrally located. They will both make you feel immediately at home!
Having spent time in Spencer's home was a real pleasure during the trip. He is very friendly and welcoming and is always willing to help with either finding way around the town or with advices for traveling. Thanks for everything :)
Location, location, (email hidden)uldn't have been more central for visiting on my own. Spencer was so nice to walk me to the best 'trad' music pubs for later that night, as well as point out good places to eat! Apartment was nice, room looking out on the rooftops, quiet street but very close to the busiest streets in Galway. Had a short, but sweet stay and found Spencer a great host. Easy walk to train/bus station.
