This is urban living at it's finest. Beautiful high historic end homes, gorgeous tree lined boulevards, wonderful people, and extremely close to many wonderful restaurants and shopping. This is one of the best neighborhoods in Portland without a doubt. The wonderful and energetic neighborhoods of Alameda, Beaumont-Wilshire, Concordia, Laurelhurst and Grant Park all surround Historic Irvington, but she is the Grand Dame of them all!

Your own illuminated, private entrance on the side of the house guarantees you complete privacy.

The garden apartment at The Irvington House was awesome. The accommodations were exactly as described. All the amenities we could have needed were there. The neighborhood was very quiet, clean and we felt perfectly comfortable walking to the many close by restaurants and shops. The location was also very convenient to get just about anywhere in the city by car. We did have a rental vehicle and street parking in front of, or near the house was never a problem. We received prompt communication from the host prior to our visit with detailed instructions on how to locate the house and access to the apartment. As it turned out we never really needed assistance from the host during our stay but knew that they were just a text message away. Everything in the apartment was clean and functional. One humorous observation was the low ceiling when you enter the apartment. Since my wife and I are not tall, this was never an issue but you may need to beware if you are 6'+ in height. The Wi-Fi worked well and the cable TV was adequate for our needs. We did not cook any meals at the apartment but all the appliances looked modern and in good working condition. Overall, we felt that this was a great vacation rental and a great value. We would definitely recommend this property and would certainly consider again for any future visits to Portland.
We found everything about the apartment to be excellent. Very thing was very new, apartment was very clean. Location is good. No problem parking. Easy drive to everything. Nice pub only a block away. Liked the neighborhood a lot Highly recommend.
Great location! Easy to find parking. Close to downtown. Excellent, up-to-date furnishings. We left something behind and it was in the mail the next stay. I would stay here again for sure:)
Amazing place. Tons of space, beautiful room, and very clean and organized. The checkin process was incredibly smooth, and the room has all the things you would expect (soap/shampoo/ironing board/etc)
I have no complaints, except that I wish I could have stayed longer.
Excellent location and well kept basement apartment with plenty of light. Very accommodating hosts who were flexible on arrival and departure times. I would stay here again!
Our stay at the Garden Hideaway exceeded our expectations. The Irvington House is even more beautiful than what the pictures convey. The landscaping is immaculate. The house also has a very nice backyard with a grille. The apartment is tastefully decorated. Mark, the host, provided nice extra touches, such as a bottle of wine and locally-grown coffee beans, which really made us feel welcome. It’s extremely easy to travel from Mark’s house to various parts of Portland. Our family of 4 (including a 3- and 5-year-old) took public transportation nearly everywhere. Additionally, you can walk to a lot of great restaurants and grocery stores, including Whole Foods. The house caretaker quickly responded to our needs, but also provided us with privacy. The apartment has blackout curtains, which was excellent for our children’s naps and for sleeping in. Overall, our experience was fabulous. We would definitely stay at Mark’s properties again.
A very easy stay! Mark was a responsive host, the unit was easy to get into, and it was clean and quiet during our days there.
