The Space

It is located in San Francisco in-between the Outer Mission and Crocker Amazon districts near Mission Street. Though the street and the area is very quiet .
If you are coming by public transit from SFO, you can take bart and get off at the Balboa Park Bart Station. My apartment is about 1.1 mile away from the Bart station, and you can do a combination of short walks and short buses trips, or just take the 88 BART SHUTTLE bus. There is a No.-14 bus stop that is few minutes walking on Mission St, which can get you to straight to downtown through Mission St. I would recommend taking Bus-14X (express) - it is much faster. Also No43 Masonic bus route is few blocks away on Curtis St and Prague St.

The Room:
This is a private room. The room has two twin size beds and require key entry, so you would have your privacy and for security purpose. Good location for public transportation and easy access to freeway if you are driving. The living room is fully furnished with sofas and a TV with a Vizio box connected(so you can login/logout to your content on (website hidden)Play, Netflix, Amazon, etc..). The apartment is geared with a 55Mbps WIFI.

Dining and Nearby:
The kitchen is open if you would like to (website hidden) ware(pots, pans, oven, microwave) are available if you are ready :). These are also near by on Mission St:
- McDonald is two blocks away on Mission St.
- A taco and burrito restaurant is also two blocks away on Mission St.
- A Bakery shop
- A Chinese café and deli
- Chick-n-Deli where you can create your own sandwiches
- Quickly - for snack and variety of drinks
- Few other Mexican food restaurants nearby (Taqueria Reina's)
- Guzman's Produce for fruits and groceries - 4 to 5 blocks walking.
- There are plenty more variety near Geneva and Mission intersection: pizza, Vietnamese pho, pop-eye, bars, etc...

Public transit, Driving, and Directions:
From SFO to here is about 18 minutes driving. If you want to go downtown, freeway 280 is nearby for driving. Or you can take #14 bus will get you to downtown, and I would recommend taking the #14X express - it is much faster. Or you can take BART at Balboa Bart Station which takes around 10 minutes to downtown - you can walk or combine with short bus trips, or take 88 BART SHUTTLE to the Balboa Bart (email hidden) & Guttenberg St.

Street Cars/Rail Lines(M, J, F, and K lines) are available at the Balboa Bart Station as well.

Also on driving:
-9 minutes driving to City College of San Francisco
-9 minutes driving to San Francisco State University
-9 minutes driving to StonesTown shopping center
-11 minutes driving to Serramonte shopping center
-15 minutes driving to Golden Gate Park
-19 minutes driving to University of San Francisco
-19 minutes driving to Union Squar/DownTown
-20 minutes driving to San Francisco Airport
-22 minutes driving to Golden Gate Bridge

-Street parking - spend few minutes around the block should find you a parking spot, though be aware of street restriction signs, such as 12PM-2PM Friday Street Cleaning on one side of the street.

Check In
  • The place is nice clean and comfortable. Brandon and Andy are nice and were accommodating to our needs. The neighborhood is quiet and 15min. drive from the center.

  • Communication with Brandon was great. He was very flexible with our checkout time as we had a late flight. The accommodations were as expected--adequate but not fancy. It's a little better to be at this location if you have a car but you can make public transportation work.

  • Brandon's place is a good option if you want something a bit cheaper, it isn't luxury but for people on a budget it does great. Although we never actually met Brandon, I believe every room is rented out for airbnb. The house is about a 15minute walk to the closest Bart station. Brandon was very helpful when we locked our keys in the bedroom, he dropped us off a new set whilst we were out in the city.

  • This was a very comfortable and nice, clean, safe place to stay. We found the twin beds very comfortable, and was so glad to find the bedding soft, warm and comfortable and two nice clean towels rolled on each bed. I was so glad because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to have brought our own towels! 2 water bottles too. I also liked that the floors are all a hard wood surface which feels cleaner to me than wall to wall carpet. The kitchen was excellent- modern and spacious with everything there for cooking and all. Large living area which is sunny and bright with 3 big comfy leather couches and HUGE nice new TV with Netflix access etc. Shower is nice and clean and has good pressure and hot water. The apartment is upstairs . Just a garage is underneath- so no noise from there.). and has a locked secure gate to it, so that feels very safe. Although the neighborhood is suburban like, quiet and feels safe anyway and fine. I live in a very quiet town in the mountains, so I am really sensitive to sounds (just a dog and a couple hoot owls nearby!) I must say that one can hear trains in the distance with the windows open, but that would be normal for this area. (It seems like it's Daly City or South San Fran anyway. ) They are not close- just in the distance. There is a really good Thai restaurant on the main road nearby and Safeway etc nearby. Brandon was a very helpful, accomodating and friendly person by texts and emails, although I didn't meet him in person (no need). He also responds quickly. It took us about 20 minutes to drive to Post Street and Van Ness in the City. You just might want to bring earplugs JUST in case the adjacent people in their rooms are not perfectly quiet, because the bedrooms are close to each other. Usually I think people try to be quiet and are aware of this. There was someone in the room next to me that just talked a little bit loud here and there, so earplugs for the first night would have been good. (The next night they were quiet). You can find somewhere to park on the streets nearby for free. Just make sure you check the signs for street cleaning no parking signs. Great value.

  • Although we did not see Brandon, he left us with perfect instructions the key and everything that was needed. The area is quite ok, parking sometimes not that easy in the zone, the room and the flat was clean and in good condition. Would definitely consider to stay there again.

  • Great place, great host, didn't see him in person, but Brandon is running the place perfecly well having a manager who's cleaning and keeping the place super neat and super clean. The apt is also very nice esthetically speaking, and very fonctional, everything one needs in the kitchen if desiring to prepare some meal at home, huge tv if interested (personally not, but it might be a plus for some!). The livingroom and diningroom are very confortable, as much as the rooms, confy matresses, table with drawers, beautiful sheets etc.
If the evaluation had 6 stars to check, I would have checked 6!
We would have wanted to rent the room w private bathroom, but it was already reserved, and Brandon has been also especially kind letting us use the private bathroom on our last day, since the people of the above mentioned room had left. How nice a thought:))). Brandon is also very fast in answering through the internet to all questions one might have, the communication was smooth and fast, we got in touch w him late at night, a bit desperate because of a very unpleasant and dirty place where we had reserved in the first place, he answered right away, and this alowed us to change place the next morning. Highly recomended place/host!

  • Brandon's house is impeccably clean, 7 minutes walking from the 14 bus. We spent 4 nights and it was a great stay. Highly recommended if you want to travel to SF.

  • We stayed at Brandon's place for 5 nights and it was very easy and comfortable. We didn't meet Brandon in person, but checking-in and -out was very uncomplicated and he answered questions via e-mail almost instantly. The room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable. We shared the bathroom with the 2 other rooms, but that was no problem. The kitchen and living room are big and nice. The apartment is in a safe neighbourhood but a little bit outside of the city, it takes around 30-40 minutes by public transport to union square.
We would recommend staying at Brandon's.
