About this listing

PLEASE EMAIL ME FIRST, BEFORE SENDING A RESERVATION REQUEST. Price is somewhat negotiable for longer term stays (more than 30 days).

Fully furnished one bedroom unit in the heart of the East Village, great for longer vacation stays, work trips, or family members in from out of town (if you live nearby.) Proud host of 7 years, (almost 3 at this unit), would love to show you personally why I love having people stay at my place while exploring my home city - that I adore, and enjoy showing off.

The space

Beautiful one bedroom apartment on a quiet, tree lined street, just a single
flight up, gorgeous bathroom, great functional kitchen with some food staples in the pantry, utilities included. Perfect for a college semester, month long work internship, or starter unit while settling in to NYC. All bedding provided - sheets, towels, pillows, blankets, etc - pus kitchenware - pots, pans, coffee maker, silverware, dishes, etc. Cable, flat screen tv, air conditioner, microwave, toaster oven - all included.

Guest access

Entire unit is all yours, only other person with a key is myself, and I'll only be there for check in and check out.

Interaction with guests

I live a short subway ride away - I'll greet you in person upon arrival (or shortly thereafter if I'm at work when you check in, but will leave keys in the lockbox for you to let yourself in, if that is the case) and help you settle in, and then can happily return as needed, or not at all if you're all set. I'll give you a quick orientation of the immediate area - and the city as whole - and provide guide books and maps for your use. I will then be reachable by phone call, text or email throughout your stay if you need any recommendations as you enjoy the city. I also work in the area at night sometimes, and will gladly invite you to enjoy some local music nearby, if you want to join me!

Other things to note

More information available on request. Check out my reviews from this and other listings, and feel free to send me an email if you have any questions at all. This is a great apartment, and I look forward to hosting you in it.

The unit is central, though small if traveling with 2 large suitcases, would suit someone who is out all day and just wants to crash for the night.

Response from Sam:
Stuart - glad you two enjoyed the location, and hope you had fun here in NYC. The unit is indeed on the smaller side, as the pictures show and my description states. Apologies if you felt it wasn't roomy enough to stretch out and relax there as much as you hoped - it is certainly set up for people who plan to be out exploring most of the time, and not ideal for settling in at home constantly. A lot of folks who are here for longer than 3 days tend to unpack a bit and put their bags in the closet or under the bed, to make some space in the living room, and that may have helped you out. Either way, great to meet you and good luck with the rest of your honeymoon adventure!

Sam was an excellent host! The place was great and was exactly as shown in the pictures. Sam had excellent communication and came saw as at 10pm when we checked in. He gave us some good local tips about what to do and we even met up with him a few times during our stay! Such a good place (with easy access to all main sight seeing place via subway and also walking distance from great eats). We would 100% go back to Sams place to stay!!

Awesome location close to all the sights in New York. Quiet street with a New York feel. Sam was super accommodating with getting us set up in the apartment and informative with ideas for restaurants, parking and transportation. I would definitely recommend Sam's place to others looking to explore New York!

Sam's place was great for a couple's vacation. It's a well located second-floor walk-up on a relatively quiet street in buzzing East Village, surrounded by all kinds of restaurants (go to Veselka!), bars, and shops. It's also located across the street from a police station, so if you're worried about your safety in New York (though you shouldn't be, it's become one of the safest cities in America) you can rest easy. Sam was great and easy to work with. He provided tourist guides and other materials for our stay, and responded promptly any time I contacted him. On our next trip there, we'll be looking to stay at Sam's again.
