** All Rooms are private with private bathroom!
Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner\'s family home which gave inspiration to this ¨Tica House¨ designed hotel.
The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town.
Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. For the rooms with private bathroom the prices are $25 for one person, $35 for a double, triple $45 and quadruple $55. Rooms with shared bathroom costs $15 for a single and $20 for a double. All prices include breakfast and tax.
Camino Verde backs onto Tina\'s Casitas and is run by the same people, which offers even cheaper private rooms and dorms ($6). There is a kitchen and a communal area here which B&B guests are welcome to use. Here there is a computer with internet connection, plus Wifi is available for guests with routers in the communal areas of both the B&B and Tina\'s Casitas.
Breakfast is free for all guests and is served from 6am until 9am. However the staff are very flexible and an earlier breakfast or packed-breakfast can be arranged if you have an early morning tour, just give them prior warning the evening before. There are three options for breakfast: the first is the typical Tico dish of eggs, rice and beans and toast; the second is fried or scrambled eggs with toast; the third is a fruit platter served with toast. Real coffee and orange juice is also available for every guest.
Check-out time is 10am but guests are welcome to use the communal areas all day if they have a late bus to catch. Camino Verde also offers a luggage storage service.
The friendly staff on reception are also experienced tour agents so can give out impartial advice on all the local companies. Furthermore they can share their countrywide knowledge of Costa Rica and organise any ongoing travel. Upon arrival at the hotel they give all guests a map of Monteverde and mark out all the different tours and activities that various companies offer in the area. This way guests learn about what is available to them and can suss out how long they might like to stay for. If required they can create "pick and mix" packages of various activities to suit each individual.

Camino Verde is a nice a cozy place. It is located at the end of town on a dirt road, about 10 minutes walking from the center of town. The rooms and the whole place is very clean. Breakfast is hearty and coffee and tea is available all day long. However, it could be noisy if your room is close to the laundry room or facing the street.
Andres, Jose and Jose were very helpful and accommodating. Andres' mother was very friendly. She and I went for a walk and she show me the opposite side of town.
Bon établissement. Camino Verde fonctionne avec un autre hôtel juste en face, dans lequel nous étions logés. La localisation était parfaite pour rejoindre le centre ville de la très touristique Santa Elena, et de toutes ses commodités.
Nice place to stay in Monteverde/Santa Elena. Good location (10min walk to the town center) and very friendly staff! We had a great time. Altough we booked at Camino Verde, we were placed on the other side of the road in Hotel Atardecer, which was no problem. Only minor point is the building itself. The walls are made of wood with no to almost none insulation, so it could be a little noisy. One night there was some noise from our neighbors which Jose solved perfectly for us!
Only thing we would have liked was a safety deposit box on our room, to leave our passport and other valuables which we did not want to bring into the National Park. But this was something we already knew and which was no big problem.
A really good, clean and well located place. Kind and perfect welcome. Good services. Good breakfast. We really recommend this accommodation for quality vs price. We also really appreciated to eat at Sabor tico for dinner (a soda recommended by Jose). Thanks
The hosts were welcoming, friendly and very helpful with the local activities. The price was very reasonable and the rooms were clean. The walls were paper-thin so you can hear other guests but this hostel/hotel is a great place to meet other travelers!
This is a charming, happy B and B set in the mountains of Costa Rica. If you can survive the drive there you'll be pleased with your choice. ( Apparantly the road might be paved in the near future ). Jose was more than helpful recommending places to eat and see. Our room was exactly what we'd asked for and the friendly hosts added to our trip experience. Thanks to all at Camino Verde B and B!
This is a great and affordable option in the cool town of Monteverde. It is a fairly new facility, and the rooms are quite nice and clean. The hosts are incredibly friendly and helpful, and unlike other places in Monteverde, they don't try to push their agenda on you, merely try to make sure you're informed and have access to some great deals in the area. Wifi here was better than anywhere else I stayed in Costa Rica, and the common area included a nice kitchen that allowed for privacy, but also getting to know other travelers.
Camino Verde surpasses my every expectation. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, and Andres and Jose are extremely friendly and helpful. If you are going to Monteverde, stay at Camino Verde. You will not be disappointed.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
A great central location to downtown Monte Verde. Andres and Jose have the customer service thing down perfectly. Jose even came to get us at the bus station after a 9 hours of travel time! WE were so grateful. The rooms are private with a bathroom, I found it warm at night, but they gave us a fan to cool off. The only thing is there is no view from the window (as of yet) as they have a screen to protect from the wind. The breakfast choices are also very good! Our stay was great. Make sure to get recommendations from them about tours, as there are many different tours that are quite expensive in Monte Verde, so you will have to pick and choose, but Jose and Andre can book it all for you with no additional cost!
