The Space

* If you do not find availability through this listing please try the other listing also named Camino Verde B&B it is the same house. =)
** All Rooms are private with private bathroom!

Camino Verde B&B is a "Bed and Breakfast" style lodging opened in 2009 and located on the edge of Santa Elena. The B&B is laid out in the style of a family house and guests are encouraged to treat it as their home. The building was in fact once the owner\'s family home which gave inspiration to this ¨Tica House¨ designed hotel.

The B&B is situated a 5 minute walk from the town centre of Santa Elena, but is far enough away for it to be quiet and have more rural surroundings. This is the perfect option for those who crave the quiet side of the countryside but who require the amenities provided in a town.
Camino Verde B&B comprises private rooms which sleep 2 to 4 guests. Four of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities and the rest are en suite. For the rooms with private bathroom the prices are $33 for one person, $44 for a double, triple $55 and quadruple $66. Rooms with shared bathroom costs $23 for a single and $33 for a double. All prices include breakfast and tax.

Breakfast is free for all guests and is served from 6:30am until 8:30 am. There are three options for breakfast: the first is the typical Tico dish of eggs, rice and beans and toast; the second is fried or scrambled eggs with toast; the third is a fruit platter served with toast. Real coffee and orange juice is also available for every guest.

Check-out time is 11 am but guests are welcome to use the communal areas all day if they have a late bus to catch. Camino Verde also offers a luggage storage service.

The friendly staff on reception are also experienced tour agents so can give out impartial advice on all the local companies. Furthermore they can share their countrywide knowledge of Costa Rica and organize any ongoing travel. Upon arrival at the hotel they give all guests a map of Monteverde and mark out all the different tours and activities that various companies offer in the area. This way guests learn about what is available to them and can suss out how long they might like to stay for. If required they can create "pick and mix" packages of various activities to suit each individual.

Please let us know if you need any help on getting to Monteverde! We can help you arrange a Shuttle or a Taxi Boat Taxi if your coming from Arenal, For example, the taxi boat taxi is $25 a person and Shuttle from San Jose to Monteverde is $39 p.p

Also, Just to let you know, there are a lot of fun things to to here, and since we have an Info-Center we can help you arrange anyth ing with great discounts! Prices you will find online will be higher, and availability wont be a problem, so there`s no need to book tours in advance.

Let us know if you have any questions about the B&B or on things to do!

  • Camino Verde is a lovely place to stay! The rooms and common areas are very clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfasts were very good. Andres helped me book my tours and each tour was enjoyable with knowledgeable and charismatic tour guides. Both Andres and Jose are friendly, easy to talk to and will help you with anything that you need. If ever in Monteverde I would stay here again and would recommend it to my friends!

  • Such a great place! My friend and I hate a lovely time at Camino Verde. Jose was incredibly helpful in coordinating all of our trip needs (daily excursions, where to eat etc.). The place itself is extremely clean and comfortable. Highly Recommend!

  • My husband and I stayed at Camino Verde B&B for two nights during our honeymoon. It was one of the least expensive and least fancy places we stayed, but also one of the most pleasant. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and down to earth. A perfect home away from home. We would have gladly stayed longer. Jose was an excellent host and made us feel very welcome. The location is also excellent - only a short walk to town, and a perfect distance from many of Monteverde's beautiful attractions.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights at the beginning of our 9 day adventure in Costa Rica. In short, we LOVED every minute of it and wished we stayed longer. Not only did Andres help us plan activities during our stay, he went above and beyond to help us book activities+ transportation for our entire 9 day trip. We never had to worry about a thing!

The room was perfect for a home base and location is great. Everyday we woke up to a yummy breakfast that fueled us for the day.

Last but not least, these are honest people and they will only book you with honest people. I left my kindle on the shuttle they booked for me to go to Manuel Antonio. I never thought I'd get it back but I did and it really made my trip so much better.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I can't thank them enough.

  • A great base for our visit in Monte Verde. Huge breakfast and free coffee all day long. Good wifi and computers available. Lots of spots to kick back and reflect on the day. Andres arranged tours and shuttles for us too. Centrally located to walk around town. Highly recommend.

  • My sister and I stayed here in a private room for 3 nights. It was a perfect spot set just outside of the Main Street in monteverde. The place itself is great, well maintained, and easily accessible. Jose was a wonderful host, very friendly and helped us book everything we wanted to do when we arrived.

  • It was a spectacular launch off point for my Costa Rican vacation. Excellent assistance given by Jose and Andres who were ever patient, thoughtful, and available. The hospitality was unparalleled and I should have booked the rest of my adventures through them.

The bed was clean & comfortable; no issues with the bathroom or any of the other facilities. Great value with a very positive atmosphere. They set the bar rather high and that watermark remained with me as I cruised around the country.

  • Out of all the many places we stayed in Costa Rica this space was by far the best. Truly beautiful and modern. Very convenient location and the host went above and beyond to make sure we attended all the events we wanted in Monteverde.

  • Jose and Andres were beyond helpful upon our arrival to Monteverde. They assisted us in booking all of our tours and gave us tips about the town. The rooms were clean and neat. The breakfast was also delicious, it was a great way to start our days. When I return to Costa Rica (because I will) this will be the place I'll stay.
Thanks for your wonderful hospitality Jose and Andres!

  • Camino Verde's staff is helpful and accessible. The location is a bit off the beaten path in Santa Elena, but considering the town is so small, this is negligible. The room is pretty, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom has all the things you'd expect. The only drawback is that the walls are fairly thin, so it can get a little noisey with neighbors. Overall though the stay was enjoyable, breakfast was good, and the atmosphere is welcoming.
