Do you enjoy beautiful views, wood fires, peace and quiet, birdlife? Are you easy going with a small footprint and an appreciation of nature and animals?
I live on 10 acres on a "lifestyle property" near Victoria's famous mineral springs area of Daylesford/ Hepburn Springs. The house is mudbrick, with lots of light and large windows, modern kitchen and bathrooms, wood fire, open plan. It's 10 minutes away by car from Daylesford and Hepburn Springs art galleries, cafes, shops, restaurants, dayspas, mineral springs and walks. It's within the Gold fields region and close to regional towns Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine. Lavandula Lavender Farm is virtually next door.
If you'd like to soak up the healing energies of the mineral springs area while enjoying a massage and touring this lovely area with a lot of gold mining history and other attractions, you'll need your own vehicle. The house is spacious and light. Your room is neat and small on the ground floor, with your own bathroom and toilet nearby, while my bedroom and bathroom are upstairs. You are welcome to make yourself comfortable, and share the kitchen, dining and living areas with me.
And if I'm free from working on my Lemon Myrtle Essentials organic bodycare or doing professional massage around town, you may book a massage from me right in the home! I combine therapeutic relaxation massage with traditional Chinese Tuina meridian massage to give you the best of both worlds and a massage which really hits the spot!
I hope you love animals (8 goats of Angora & various mixes). Plus lots of wild Corellas, Cockatoos and Galahs in the area. The goats live in adjoining paddocks a distance away. I keep a very clean and tidy home, with no animals allowed inside.
p/s Breakfast is "make your own" - usually yummy and healthy bread and jam and free range eggs available.
Moderate water use, general environmental awareness. Tidy and considerate.
Aileen is such a wonderful human! My friend and I felt instantly warm and invited into her stunning home as soon as we got there. She gave us so many amazing tips for the area- do as she says because the tips she gave us were absolutely spot on. The book shop cafe is incredible! Don't hesitate to visit this magical place. Thank you so much Aileen, I hope that we can stay in touch in the future!
This was our second stay at Aileen's lovely house and it was just as enjoyable and relaxing, just like the first time.
From the moment we stepped inside Aileen's beautiful home, we felt instantly relaxed and at ease.
One of the first things I noticed, was the presence of so many Salt Lamps around the place- great for allergies/asthmatics. Not to mention they are pretty when lit up :)
Aileen was very welcoming and we felt so comfortable the entire stay.
The first night as we sat on her comfy couch with a wine in the hand, she offered her advice on some good places to eat and some fun things to do. It was great to have such valuable insight from a local. We really enjoyed chatting to her- very friendly and easy-going.
Being the active couple we are, we saw quite a bit. By the afternoon, all we wanted to do was go back to Aileen's house & relax. Which is what we did.
The recliner chairs were too tempting- especially with a good book and such an amazing view. Pure serenity.
We liked the location because it offered the best of both worlds. Peaceful with the sense of space and only a 10min drive into Daylesford.
My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere that we would be able to clear our minds and cleanse our souls. This stay did exactly that for us!
We also had a lovely massage from Aileen which left us feeling great.
Will go back for sure :)
A tranquil setting. Aileen was a gorgeous host and shared many interests with us. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Aileen's place is truly peaceful and tranquil and a couple of nights there felt much longer.
Her place is set amongst the rolling hills outside of Hepburn Springs and through the large wood-framed windows the panorama of the surrounding landscape is mesmerizing and ever-changing. There was native wildlife aplenty and some rather sweet and cheeky goats in the paddock nearby.
Aileen very kindly stocked the fridge with delicious quality breakfast items and even made me a super-healthy smoothie before I left, so I felt very well cared for and frankly wished I could stay a few more days!
I would recommend this place heartily to anyone who's looking for a place that is warm, relaxing and nurturing with fresh air and lots of light. It was just a hop skip and a jump to Hepburn Springs and Daylesford on one side and Castlemaine on the other. A great way to spend time in the country!
Aileen's home is just gorgeous. We loved the natural bush setting, and appreciated that we had our own private space as well as access to the beautiful kitchen and living area. Aileen herself is a wonderful hostess; she recommended a great place for dinner and generously explained the interesting things to do in the area and helped us with directions!
Aileen was a excellent host and the mud brick house was beautiful. If only we didn't have a wedding we needed to race off to, we would have loved to have spent more time on this gorgeous property.
