The John Truman House is a beautiful, centrally located apartment in the heart of College Hill. The house was built in 1802 and is full of historic charm while still offering plenty of modern conveniences. Located right off of Benefit Street, it is walkable to cafes, restaurants, bars, Brown, RISD and downtown Providence. We look forward to welcoming you!

The space
The space gets lovely light throughout. The living room, contains a little kitchenette, designated work space, dining area and living area with TV. The coffee station features a Berkey water filter, Nespresso Creatista, which can be used to make any type of espresso drink, and a vast selection of teas. From the living room space you look out onto Transit Street, which is lined with gorgeous historic homes, and down towards the pedestrian bridge. It is an active area with people walking down to the river, to the cafe for a croissant or towards jobs or school.

If you have more than two people, we offer a high-end (King Koil) inflatable twin sized air mattress, or for those with younger travelers, we can make up the couch as a twin bed (It is a little shorter than a twin bed). It is important to note that those staying in the living room will have to go through the bedroom to access the bathroom.

Through the living space you can make your way down the hallway, where you will find space for hanging clothing, as well as handy accessories like an iron, ironing board, and drying rack.

The bedroom is outfitted with a queen sized bed with premium sheets and a calming dappled light. It also has a bureau to store clothing and a basket with spare blankets if you get chilly. It is a truly peaceful room to wake up in.

Through the bedroom is the bathroom, which has been newly updated. Enjoy beautiful soaps and crisp towels in this vibrant space.

This airbnb is in a lovingly preserved Federal-style home originally built over two hundred years ago. It has wide-plank floors, original moldings, and fine craftsmanship that reflects the architectural beauty of early America. Please enjoy and respect its age and character—she has stood the test of time! With this in mind, please expect that there may be imperfections - squeaky floors and sticky windows.
