Small studio 2 minutes from the tram & bus stops, 2 minutes from Piazza Santa Maria and famous restaurants but in a safe and super quiet area so you can sleep in peace. Fully self contained from shower, towels, sheets, kitchenette, basic cooking utensils, HAIRDRYER.
Sleeps maximum 2.
The bed is a sofabed, albeit a comfortable one.
The studio is small but it has all you need for a short stay. It is possibly the cheapest place in Rome. It does have a little kitchenette to cook basic things and a cuppa tea but most people eat out and there's a little bar that does great coffee and a little 'cornetto' (croissant - chocolate or fruity or plain) for €2.

Very well situated, amazing historic neighbourhood. We loved the area. Walking distance to attractions and steps from tram stop. Across the street from amazing pizza and gelato, close to great trattorias. Veronica and Richard were very kind. The place is small but for the price for a few nights it's great. You won't be spending much time indoors anyways, Rome has so much to offer. Thanks for everything!
We stayed in Torre in April 2014, and we spent 3 nights in the appartment. We are not as enthousiastic as some of the other people on this website.. With the following, I would like to put some things into perspective..
Let's start with the positive aspects:
+ Very smooth arrival and information about the appartment. We got in touch easily, and the appartment is not hard to find, if you follow the instructions received after booking.
+ Good price, about the cheapest you will find.
+ Good location, close to everything!
There were also quite some negative aspects..
- The appartment is quite 'humid' which causes a bit of an odour. We left all of our luggage unpacked, not to let the odour enter our suitcases..
- The appartment is really really really small. It is about 10 square metres, bath room included!
- When you are there during the day, you can hear the water from the toilets above you running through the pipes, all the way down to the little court yard..
- The bath room floods entirely, and you also need to make sure the room doesn't flood while taking a shower. The shower itself is really small (40cms).
- We were told there would be enough warm water for two nice showers, but this wasn't really the case. It got cold after aprox 15 mins.
- The electricity is really weak, as you can not use the fridge and dry your hair at the same time..
- The ceiling is not clean at all, it's full of spider webs..
Conclusion: Torre is not our first pick when it comes down to staying in Rome. After 2 days we were really tired of walking all the time, and we needed some time to relax. We found it annoying that we had no real place to go back to when we wanted to lie down for some hours, as the appartment was not so nice.. If all you are looking for is a central cheap place for one or two nights, this might still be a good solution. If you are looking forward to a romantic city trip in Rome, maybe it's better to spend some extra euros on a nicer and lighter place..
Although everything that I experienced was indeed outlined somewhat in the summary of the listing, I was not excited by the space or the overall feel of my stay at this location. I did enjoy that it was cute and small, but it was so dark and smelt musty all the time due to no light coming through the tiny windows that it changed the dynamics of 'going home' after a day out in Rome and 'waking up' to a day in Rome.
The apartment was very conveniently located. You get what you pay for, no bells and whistles but a safe and relatively comfortable place to sleep. The apartment would be good for a short stay. The shower is very small, if you are taller it's difficult to use. Feels like a basement apartment room. Make sure you go visit RUMI just down the street for some great fresh juice and healthy sandwiches!
Had a lovely stay in Rome in march. Excellent food, weather combined with Richards central situated apartment in Trastevere. The apartment/room is very tiny but that does only make you wanna go out in the lovely neighborhood. We received some local insider hints which resulted in some lovely meals.
The apartment is what it is. The low price reflects the condition of the apartment. It is small and basement-like. The electricity is a bit so so. Only one consumer at the time. No hairdrier, with the fridge plugged in.
But when you step out the door you are among bars, restaurants, lovely buildings and laundry hanging above your head
If your needs and funds a small I Would recommend Richards apartment.
Very nice clean room in a very nice area. There are many attractions within walking distance. The Trastevere area is very lively during the day and at night and it can get a little loud, so be weary if you are a light sleeper. I would highly recommend Richard's place if you need a room to crash in a very historic and lively area.
Richard was a great host! Upon arrival he instantly gave us a personal tour around the surrounding streets and neighborhood. He gave us a few suggestions on places to eat and we found them very helpful. Unfortunately it rained most of our time in Roma, however we were able to still walk everywhere from the studio. The studio was small, as we assumed, but perfect for what we needed. Safe, clean, and perfect for a great nights sleep. The studio is in the heart of the best neighborhood in all of Roma. We loved it there.
The check-in process was very quick and easy. I called Richard, and he was at the apartment in less than 5 minutes. The location and value of this apartment cannot be beat. You are easily within walking distance to all of the major attractions Rome has to offer. The studio is small, but has everything you need. The pull out bed is very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to vacation in Rome.
