About This Listing
My cottage is suitable for people that want to enjoy the peace and quite of the country side but not completely isolated as it is quite close to the picturesque villages of Schull and Ballydehob.
kitchen and living space are open plan with three bedrooms adjacent.
My cottage is unique because it has panoramic views of all of roaring water bay which includes the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Castle and Horse island to name a few. it also gives guests the unique view of the atlantic ocean in its calmest and its wildest days with huge waves breaking over the fastnet rock to the western end of Cape Clear. This cottage comfortably fits 6 people can accommodate more if needs be.
Guests will have access to all of the cottage and the large garden outside but also I live and work on my farm which surrounds the cottage guests can come and help out with the milking and any other work they may feel they would like to do to make there stay more enjoyable. local amenities are quite close the old Ballydehob Schull walk trail is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage which will take guest back to the late 18th century when it was then used for horse drawn carriages and people walking to and from the towns. The trail also takes you to Derreennatra pier which is lovely for a swim and take photo of while sitting up the large Monteray pine tree which is over a 170 years old..
Interaction with Guests
Yes I would love to get to know my guests either through working with on the farm or socialising in the local pub. But this is entirely up to my guests if they want to take a rest and completely switch off from the outside world that is there choice. I will be around as much as possible I live just down the road and will be tending to animals up and around the cottage most days.
When we arrived at Micheal's property my friend said, "there is no need to go on because we have reached nirvana." And I couldn't have agreed more so we booked 2 more nights. The view from the property is simply gorgeous looking out to the sea and islands. Micheal and his girlfriend had to fire burning for us and they gave us helpful tips. The house is modern, clean, large and very comfortable with all we needed. It is conveniently located to the peninsulas for day excursions...we highly recommend Schull. We even got to meet Peter the friendliest dog in the world.
Michael's place is beautiful. The house is lovely, spacious, clean and well-equipped. And the view is spectacular! It's every bit as nice as shown/described and more.
Michael is a gracious host, very helpful and friendly.
The area quiet, breezy and high on a hill. Although a walk to town is very doable, we drove because we wanted to see everything we could in our short three day stay. And there was a lot to see by car. It's an easy drive to Schull, Ballydehob, Bantry and Glengarriff.
I highly recommend Michael's place. Andrea
Great house, amazing views. Stunning views of a moonlit sea at night. Very accommodating and pleasant host. Thank you.
Beautiful cottage with an amazing view ! We had a great week and everything was perfect. Michael is extremely friendly and very welcoming. He obviously loves the area around Schull and shares his knowledge with the visitors. The children were happy to milk the cows and feed the calves. Great walks around the cottage.
It's a perfect family holiday.

Me and my family really have an amazing time in Michael's house. The house is clean and spacious with a million £'s view overlooking the Atlantic ocean...
It is so peaceful and tranquil..
We went to buy fresh seafood from Cork English market to barbecue outside the house while enjoying the fantastic view.. There is a nice barbecue pit and Michael is so kind to supply the charcoal for the barbecue..
My little niece really enjoy her first time experience milking the cow..
The host is amazing. We met both Michael's brothers and his mum. They are all so caring and friendly.
It's an amazing experience staying in there for 3 nights and we highly recommend it to anybody who go to Ireland...
Thank you for the lovely warm welcome Michael and Peter (the friendliest dog in the world!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cottage, taking in the panoramic views, exploring the local area and relaxing in front of the fire. It was very clean and very well equipped. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
