Hello,
My cottage is suitable for people that want to enjoy the peace and quite of the country side but not completely isolated as it is quite close to the picturesque villages of Schull and Ballydehob.

kitchen and living space are open plan with three bedrooms adjacent.

The space

My cottage is unique because it has panoramic views of all of roaring water bay which includes the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Castle and Horse island to name a few. it also gives guests the unique view of the atlantic ocean in its calmest and its wildest days with huge waves breaking over the fastnet rock to the western end of Cape Clear. This cottage comfortably fits 6 people can accommodate more if needs be.

Guest access

Guests will have access to all of the cottage and the large garden outside but also I live and work on my farm which surrounds the cottage guests can come and help out with the milking and any other work they may feel they would like to do to make there stay more enjoyable. local amenities are quite close the old Ballydehob Schull walk trail is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage which will take guest back to the late 18th century when it was then used for horse drawn carriages and people walking to and from the towns. The trail also takes you to Derreennatra pier which is lovely for a swim and take photo of while sitting up the large Monteray pine tree which is over a 170 years old..

Interaction with guests

Yes I would love to get to know my guests either through working with on the farm or socialising in the local pub. But this is entirely up to my guests if they want to take a rest and completely switch off from the outside world that is there choice. I will be around as much as possible I live just down the road and will be tending to animals up and around the cottage most days.

The Best View and best WiFi in west Cork WOW!!!! Private location with a very accommodating host. Dishwasher caused a problem and it was immediately replaced. Shortage of Towels, within an hour, too many towels!. Excellent location for walking cycling and just chilling out. Mattresses on the beds just need to be a little more comfortable, add a fresh lick of paint, cushions on the outdoor seating, then sit back and enjoy your Private Oasis in West Cork. Listen to the Roar of the ocean from roaring water bay, shooting stars through the milky way, watch the moonlight light up the horizon over Cape Clear, and count the seconds between each flash from the Fastnet rock.

Michael was a wonderful host. House is in a beautiful, idyllic location and was well stocked with all essentials and extra linen should it be needed. Communication prior to and during our stay was excellent. Michael even called to the house to make sure we were OK with everything and gave us local recommendations for our few days. All in all a very enjoyable stay and we hope to be back again!

Michael was the perfect host, very responsive to messages both before and during our stay. He granted us the privacy to enjoy our stay and feel fully 'at home' with the reassurance that he was contactable too. It was a pleasure to meet him, a lovely down to earth person....and not forgetting the very lovely Peter !! A big hit with the kids. The house has everything you could possibly need, fully equipped and even better than the pictures and description does justice for. The location is just perfect, right between Schull and Ballydehob, in a peaceful setting with the most incredible views over Roaring Water Bay, Fastnet Lighthouse and Cape Clear. The Butter Road walking route runs close by the house and is great for a wee dander into Schull. The overall location is an ideal base for exploring Cork and Kerry, we enjoyed lots of days out, visiting Crag Caves, Kilarney, Muckross, Gap of Dunloe, Cana Mountains, Beara Peninsula, Kinsale, Clonakilty, Mizen Head, Priests Leap, Kenmare, FOTA, Cork and the fabulous Barley Cove and Derrynane beaches! For children, I would recommend the Model Village in Clonakilty...and an absolute gem of a find was the Ewe Experience near Glengarriff, a sculpture garden with a difference! Corr an Droma....we will be back!!
