My cottage is suitable for people that want to enjoy the peace and quite of the country side but not completely isolated as it is quite close to the picturesque villages of Schull and Ballydehob.
kitchen and living space are open plan with three bedrooms adjacent.
My cottage is unique because it has panoramic views of all of roaring water bay which includes the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin, Castle and Horse island to name a few. it also gives guests the unique view of the atlantic ocean in its calmest and its wildest days with huge waves breaking over the fastnet rock to the western end of Cape Clear. This cottage comfortably fits 6 people can accommodate more if needs be.
Guests will have access to all of the cottage and the large garden outside but also I live and work on my farm which surrounds the cottage guests can come and help out with the milking and any other work they may feel they would like to do to make there stay more enjoyable. local amenities are quite close the old Ballydehob Schull walk trail is only 5 minutes walk from the cottage which will take guest back to the late 18th century when it was then used for horse drawn carriages and people walking to and from the towns. The trail also takes you to Derreennatra pier which is lovely for a swim and take photo of while sitting up the large Monteray pine tree which is over a 170 years old..
Interaction with Guests
Yes I would love to get to know my guests either through working with on the farm or socialising in the local pub. But this is entirely up to my guests if they want to take a rest and completely switch off from the outside world that is there choice. I will be around as much as possible I live just down the road and will be tending to animals up and around the cottage most days.
Beautiful cottage with an amazing view ! We had a great week and everything was perfect. Michael is extremely friendly and very welcoming. He obviously loves the area around Schull and shares his knowledge with the visitors. The children were happy to milk the cows and feed the calves. Great walks around the cottage.
It's a perfect family holiday.
Comments from the children :
Owen : "the house is very big and I loved the view. Bedrooms are very comfortable"
Liam : "I love Peter the dog and the lovely view"
Luna : "I loved the walks and the animals".
We would love to come back !

Me and my family really have an amazing time in Michael's house. The house is clean and spacious with a million £'s view overlooking the Atlantic ocean...
It is so peaceful and tranquil..
We went to buy fresh seafood from Cork English market to barbecue outside the house while enjoying the fantastic view.. There is a nice barbecue pit and Michael is so kind to supply the charcoal for the barbecue..
My little niece really enjoy her first time experience milking the cow..
The host is amazing. We met both Michael's brothers and his mum. They are all so caring and friendly.
It's an amazing experience staying in there for 3 nights and we highly recommend it to anybody who go to Ireland...
Thank you for the lovely warm welcome Michael and Peter (the friendliest dog in the world!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your cottage, taking in the panoramic views, exploring the local area and relaxing in front of the fire. It was very clean and very well equipped. We only wish we could have stayed longer!
I think I found one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Thank you Michael for everything. You really are a great host - beside all the things you have to do every day you took the time preparing a warm house, answering all our questions and letting us experience your way of life. We love and miss your animals.
This was a unique experience non of the Birthday crew members will ever forget.
10 stars for generosity, warmth and comfort.
we will be back :)
It was our first return trip to Corr an Droma. Michael is a great host and it is clear that he enjoys people staying. The house is in a great location; fantastic views and cosy. It's rural but within a few mins drive of Schull or Ballydehob. Most of the time we walked around the area.
Thanks again for letting us stay.
Michael was a great host. I would recommend this cottage to anyone who has a chance to go. He provided us with spot on directions so we wouldn't get lost. The view from the cottage was breathtaking. The place was clean and welcoming. The best part of the stay would have to be getting to milk the cows and feed the 2 day old baby cows. Michael was very friendly and open to showing us what he does on a daily basis. Couldn't have asked for a better host.
I would highly recommend a stay in Michael's cottage. He is an excellent host; having the cottage prepared immaculately for us on arrival with the heating on and the fire set for lighting. He is an absolute gent!
The accommodation itself is excellent; spacious, homely, picturesque.
The location is excellent for anyone looking for a break in West Cork; a short distance from both Schull and Ballydehob. The view from the front of the cottage is beautiful.
Thanks Michael, we'll be back!!
