Situated in a peaceful countryside setting, 5 miles from Castlerea and 2 miles from Lake O'Flynn, Ballinlough my cottage is a haven for tourists visiting the west and north west, walkers and fishermen. All comforts provided, including an open fire.
You will love the open turf fire - make yourself a cup of tea or pour a glass of wine and curl up in front of it - guaranteed to recharge the batteries!
This place is for you if you are seeking peace and quiet, interrupted only by morning birdsong!
However, there’s no wifi; when I come home I like to really get away from it all and I recommend that you do the same. Don’t worry, it will all be waiting for you when you get back!
Interaction with Guests
I will not be there personally but my family (mother, father and brothers) will be happy to look after you and show you some real Irish hospitality.
You will need a car as the cottage is in a really rural setting, 3 miles away from the nearest village and 5 miles from the town which has supermarkets and other amenities.
We try to be as 'green' as possible and would be grateful if you could do the same; that means sorting your rubbish, turning lights/heat etc off when not in use.
Out of respect for other guests, we do not allow smoking in the house. For the same reason we do not accept pets.
Its a beautiful Cottage and as described....Angela's Mum was very helpful. The place is just beautiful. Spend 4 relaxing days over Easter, initially thought WiFi would have been great but i take it back... the charm of country living is in being off the grid.......
Angela's mother showed us the house and was very friendly. The cottage was not too big for four persons, but very cosy, comfortable and private. We loved the fireplace and very much appreciated the well equipped kitchen. We had a very nice and quiet weekend.
This was a very lovely place. Angela was great and accommodating. If you want a place where you can get away and free from the pressures of the everyday grind this is the place for you.
I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay and I'm so sorry about the washing machine, it was really bad luck that it broke when it did. We should have bought a new one straight away, instead of trying to get it fixed. The new one is now ordered and on the way but that's not much use to you, I know. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Ireland & wish you all the best. Angela
We really enjoyed our stay at the cosy cottage. It does exactly what it says on the tin. A lovely homely cottage away from the noise of town with a really nice peat fire. Thanks very much!
Welcome to my cosy country cottage! I live in Italy but, when I can, I love to come back to the cottage and snuggle up in front of the open turf fire with a good book and a cup of tea. I am delighted to share my house with you and hope you'll feel truly at home here.
