The Space

Comfortable and cosy 1-bedroomed apartment with en-suite bathroom, off-street parking, cable tv & free wi-fi. You are welcome to share our pretty & secluded rear garden when the weather permits! The apartment is attached to our home but has its own independent entrance ensuring your privacy, and we are just next door if you need help with anything or advice on interesting places to visit & good places to eat. Although I have travelled a lot I am happy to have always lived in Galway and know our lovely seaside city & surrounding areas very well.
The living room has comfy leather furniture & a large flatscreen LCD TV with lots of channels. The small kitchen area has a fridge & microwave for preparing your own simple meals and (assuming you are not too early a riser!) I will drop in a tray with fresh home-baked scones, preserves, & juice etc. for your breakfast.
The new orthopaedic bed is very comfortable, ensuring a good nights rest after your travels.
Our neighbourhood is quiet, leafy and well-maintained on the western side of the city, just an easy walk into the centre and all it has to offer, or to the lovely beach at Salthill. There are a number of large supermarkets nearby as well as pharmacies, pubs, restaurants etc. If you are driving you will find we are perfectly placed to help you explore the beauty of Connemara and the Aran Islands, or the magic of the Cliffs of Moher. We are also on a regular & reliable bus route if you need it.
Please Note: There is a 2-night minimum stay requirement. However, in the event of "gaps" in the calendar and you need a place for just one night, please do ask!

Guest Access

Guests have full use of the apartment and are welcome to sit in the garden, weather permitting!
Should you wish to do some laundry that can be arranged for a small fee: there is also a clothesline in the back garden should you wish to hang laundry out to dry: an iron & ironing board is provided in the flat.
A hairdryer is also provided.

Interaction with Guests

The apartment is attached to my home but you do have your own front door so your privacy is assured.
I am generally on hand if you need any help or advice & love to chat, but am happy to leave you to your own devices if you would prefer not to be interrupted!

  • Liz is a dream host and she offers such a wonderful space. The one bedroom was as nice as it looked in the photos; clean, simple and tasteful. The location is handy for venturing to and fro, and while we didn't wander into the city centre on foot, we could have quite easily taken that 30/40 minute stroll. Brekkie was divine... DIVINE I tell you! I'm still banging on about the fresh scones and stewed gooseberries with yoghurt and granola to anyone that will listen... dee'LISH!

I'll just go back to how great Liz is before wrapping up... she's naturally friendly, clearly enjoys meeting new people and while It seemed we could have chatted to no end, she gave us our space and respected our privacy.

I highly recommend Liz and her fab apartment; and I look forward to my next visit to Galway... I'll definitely be seeing Liz again.

  • We stayed at liz's BnB for 2 nights recently. Immaculately clean and tidy on our arrival. It was a very quiet area good for a restful nights sleep. Choc biscuits, fresh flowers, very generous breakfast and everything we needed. Communication was very good all the time. About a 30 minute walk into Galway . A very pleasant stay.

  • Liz's granny flat next to her house is absolutely beautiful - spacious, warm, & clean, & Liz was a perfect host - great to have her right next door if we needed anything (which we didn't).

  • Liz was an excellent host and the flat was perfect for our needs. We went to Galway as visiting researchers at NUIG for a month and the flat is within walking distance, about 20 mins depending on your speed. The flat is also on a bus route with regular bus service (#405) to both the campus and the city centre. Overall we had a wonderful visit and we would highly recommend Liz's flat to other travellers for both short-term and long-term trips. She also makes fantastic scones!

  • Great place to stay. Private but also Liz available, breakfast provided, sometimes a bit too much, but nice, especially the rhubarb jam. Would book again if going to Galway.

  • Wonderful apartment, exactly as described, super cute! Liz was a wonderful hostess, very accommodating and helpful! 20 minute walk to city center depending on how fast you walk (I'm a speed walker). Parking available on site and very quiet neighborhood. I would highly recommend Liz and her cozy place:)

I was born & raised in Galway, and have a large family with only the youngest 2 still living at home. I love travelling to new places and meeting new people, and Galway city in itself is a great place to get out and about and meet people as it seems there is always a gathering or festival of some description taking place! I love to cook and find it therapeutic: sharing a good meal with family & friends has to be one of life's great pleasures :-)
