Cosy, compact 1-bedroomed apartment: a clean, comfortable and peaceful place to relax after a busy day exploring. Free car parking.

Your perfect stop-off on The Wild Atlantic Way!
Comfortable, compact and cosy 1-bedroomed apartment with en-suite bathroom, off-street parking & cable tv. There is free (speedy!) wi-fi.
The apartment is attached to our home but has its own independent entrance ensuring your privacy, and we are just next door should you need help with anything, or advice on interesting places to visit & good local places to eat.
The living room has comfy leather furniture & a large flatscreen LCD TV with lots of channels, so if you're feeling a little tired after all your sight-seeing why not just sit and relax for a while, choose a dvd or a book from the collection available & recharge your batteries!
The small kitchen area is equipped with a fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster, ideal for preparing simple meals.
*Please note there is no hot plate or other oven.
In the mornings, make your own tea or coffee from the supply provided & I will bring you a breakfast tray with fresh home-baked scones, butter, preserves, & juice etc.
The double orthopaedic bed is (I am told!) very comfortable, ensuring you get a good nights rest after your travels. The shower in the en-suite bathroom has a constant, plentiful supply of hot water. Shampoo & shower gel are provided so there's no need to carry these with you :)
Towels and bedlinen are provided & the bed will be freshly made and ready for you when you arrive.
Our neighbourhood is quiet, leafy and well-maintained on the western side of the city, just an easy walk into the centre and all it has to offer, or to the lovely beach at Salthill. There are a number of large supermarkets nearby as well as pharmacies, pubs, restaurants etc.
*For your convenience you will find a supply of shopping bags in the kitchen, as in Ireland there is a charge for carrier bags in the shops :(
We are on a reliable, regular bus route to the city centre. If you have a car with you, you are welcome to park directly outside the apartment.
Our location is perfect for exploring the beauty of Connemara and the Aran Islands, or the magic of the Cliffs of Moher!
The apartment and its facilities are yours to enjoy for the duration of your stay. You are also welcome to sit out in our pretty & secluded back garden, weather permitting of course!
Should you need to have laundry washed and dried, that can be arranged for you at a cost of €10 per load.
If you prefer to do your own, there is a clothesline in the back garden where you can hang your laundry out to dry: an iron & an ironing board is provided in the apartment.
A hairdryer is also provided.
Interaction with Guests
The apartment is attached to our home but you do have your own front door so your privacy is assured.
Although I have travelled a lot (& hope the best is yet to come!) I have always lived in Galway and know our lovely seaside city & surrounding areas very well.
I am generally on hand if you need any help or advice & love to chat, but am happy to leave you to your own devices if you would prefer not to be interrupted!
We live in a safe & peaceful suburb of Galway City. We have great neighbours and there is a real sense of community. I love living a little bit away from the hustle & bustle of the "city centre" and yet we're just a short car or bus ride into town. The lovely beach & promenade at Salthill is also just 10 minutes away.
If you are travelling without a car, you will find the bus-stop for the number 411 "Red Bus" is literally 1 mins walk from the apartment, the service runs every 30 mins from early til late and will take you into town at a cost of €2.10.
Should you prefer to take a taxi, it will cost €8-10.
If you feel like stretching your legs it is a leisurely 25 min walk into town. I can show you the easiest/fastest route.
If you DO have a car, please note you may park in the driveway directly in front of the apartment. Depending on traffic it is a 5-minute drive to the city or to the promenade at Salthill...which, by the way, is the longest promenade in Ireland.
A brisk daily walk along "the prom" is a "must" for hundreds if not thousands of Galwegians...but remember, you MUST kick the wall at Blackrock before turning back...its tradition!!
If you are a cyclist & have left your bike at home its worth noting that the "Coca-Cola Zero" bikes scheme was launched in Galway recently. This initial phase of the programme has introduced 195 brand new bikes to Galway, distributed through 19 bike stations dotted around the city. A really great, inexpensive way of getting around and seeing more than you might do on foot!
Other Things to Note
There are a number of supermarkets and pharmacies within easy reach.
If you feel like a quiet drink without having to head back into the city, the Library Bar in the Glenoaks Hotel is just a 5-minute walk away.
Galway City itself is home to a host of award-winning restaurants serving a huge range of different cuisines. I'll be happy to guide you to the best "tried & tested" eateries:)
Well, you are on your holidays so I'll try and keep this one short...;)
Earliest check-in time is 3pm & latest check-out is 11.00am.
Apartment accomodates 2 comfortably: no other overnight guests please!
My home is a smoke-free zone and so please do not smoke in the apartment: there is a door from the bedroom into the back into the garden for the addicts among you!
No pets allowed.
Please, please note, if you intend using a hair dye or bleach treatment while you're here, please don't use the towels provided...just ask me & I'll be happy to provide an extra towel suitable for that purpose :)
Other than that, relax....after all, you're on your holidays!!
Thank you :)
We were very welcomed and it was home away from home.Breakfast was fabulous and decor was tasteful and inviting .Liz had our rooms nice and warm when we arrived.
L'appartement est vraiment sympathique dans un quartier résidentiel. Le centre ville n'est pas loin ( 5min en voiture).
Liz est une hôte vraiment charmante et son petit déjeuner un délice.
Merci pour tout.
We had a wonderful stay with Liz in Galway. She was incredibly responsive and helpful leading up to and throughout our stay, checking in via text to make sure we knew where we were going and asking if we needed anything. Her home is contemporary, clean, bright, and just right for two people.
Liz's lovely apartment was the perfect size for my boyfriend and I while we were relaxing on (email hidden)e apartment's location was in a nice neighborhood about 10 minutes outside of the city. There was a bus right around the corner that we took into the city center every day! Also, Liz was an amazing host! She came by each morning to bring us a delicious breakfast of biscuits, toast, cheese varieties, and orange juice. She also offered to give us a lift to the pharmacy when my boyfriend wasn't feeling well. I would definitely recommend staying here!
It's just such a perfect place to stay, and Liz provided us with a tasty breakfast, with freshly baked scones. We will definitely be back again to this comfortable and cosy apartment.
Liz is an amazingly experienced host, and you can feel that from the very moment you meet her. The house is lovely, comfortable, full of thoughtful details, and extremely clean. Loved staying there and will be back for sure!
I was born in Galway, and have a large family with just the youngest 2 still living at home. I love travelling to new places and meeting new people, and Galway city in itself is a great place to get out and about and meet people as there is (nearly!) always a gathering or festival of some description taking place! I love to cook and find it therapeutic: sharing a good meal with family & friends has to be one of life's great pleasures :-)
