Pasty Towers is a fantastic Late Victorian house with views from the front of the house over Perranporth town to the dunes and golf course, with the end of the beach visible to one side.
You should know that it is a renovation project, and as such facilities are scant!
It's asking me to describe why my place is unique. Well, how often have you willingly stayed in a building site?! I'm being harsh - I regularly have a lot of friends to stay - some with really young children. It is superbly located for the beach and town. Tools are kept away most of the time and I do a pretty good job of cleaning up. Every time someone comes through Airbnb it enables me to do something more to the house: You can stay with that feel good factor - you are helping to restore a really lovely late Victorian house :)
Kitchen (currently deluxe since gaining working belfast sink, fridge, washing machine and dishwasher.) Still missing proper cupboards, hob, and working oven. But the kettle works!
Quite happy to leave you to your own devices or go for a pint - very laid back.
If you are a strong thrower, you could reach the beach from the front of my house. I have some fantastic neighbours, although the immediate ones rent their places out for peak season or longer. Perranporth itself has everything you need, but there is a great bus service to Truro and Newquay. The cliffs are incredible - Droskyn Point provides a fantastic view along the 2.5 miles of Perranporth's sandy beach, and is a great spot to watch the sun go down with a glass of wine and some nice supper.
Bus to/from Truro and Newquay
Taxi service - Dor2Dor with Doreen - the local legend !
Mainline trains from Truro and Newquay. There are direct trains to Paddington, and a great sleeper service.
Newquay airport isn't far and flies to the Scillys, London Stansted and Manchester amongst other places.
I'll be working on it over the winter months so even though it is advertised I'd check first as I may have the heating or something in bits.
I had a lovely time staying at Pete’s house. Pete was a great host: friendly, sociable, generous and easy-going, with some handy tips on where to go and things to do in and around Perranporth. He even gave me a lift to and from the train station.
Like he says in his description, the house isn't yet the finished article, but it has some beautiful features - wooden floorboards, a swish bathroom with a nice big bath, a handmade kitchen (nearly!)… My room was bright, clean and airy and had a big comfy bed; and the house has a nice relaxed, peaceful vibe, in-keeping with its fantastic location less than a minute away from the sandy beach and stunning cliff top views.
