Quiet private studio room with en suite bathroom on ground level in my home. A cozy coastal stop for city-goers, surfers, & hikers. Near SFO. San Pedro Valley Park as a backyard—serene view. Solo travelers, couples, families of 3 welcome!
The space is a studio room with an ensuite bathroom that comes with a queen-size bed, TV, Cable, WIFI, DVDS, plenty of free parking, and books to peruse. Windows allow for lots of natural light and offer a serene view of the trees and mountains of San Pedro Valley Park, which is replete with hiking trails and picnic areas. The room has an attached bathroom with shower stall. Towels, sheets/blankets, & pillows will be available for your use. The sitting area in the studio room has a sofa that converts into a twin-size bed, perfect for a child or a separate sleeping companion.
Besides your private suite on the ground level, you will have access to the upstairs kitchen, dining room, living room, and deck. You'll find tea & coffee in the kitchen. Laundry facilities are available on the ground level in the garage (available only for stays of 5 days or longer). There's an outside hose for rinsing off boards, wetsuits, hiking boots, fishing gear, etc.
You are welcome to park in the long driveway. A camper van or small RV should fit fine as well.
I am respectful of your privacy and needs, yet will be present to address any questions or concerns you may have. The house and area are quiet and calm.
Pacifica's coastline has paved bike/jog/walk paths that stretch for miles from Pedro Point/Linda Mar Beach Area all the way to the Pacifica Pier. Access to these is a short 3-mile drive or ride away from my home.
*Max # of adults accommodated is 2. Max # of children is 1 (age 15 and under). Family-friendly. Kid-friendly. No pets---sorry.
At the bottom of our street is a local grocery market, beauty salon, restaurant, gas station, and public library.
Trail heads for numerous San Pedro Valley Park trails are accessed from the top of our street, a 4 min. walk, or a 1 min. drive/8 min. walk to the bottom of the road to the park entrance. Walking/cycling into the park is free of charge. Driving into the park involves a fee on some days. No pets are allowed in.
The house is 3 miles inland from Linda Mar Beach on HWY 1. It's a 5-minute drive to surf, walk, or jog there. Or just to enjoy the beach! Besides the slight gradient of our street, the way there along Linda Mar Blvd. is otherwise flat and simple for cycling to the coast. There are various shops, markets, and restaurants in that area for all your supply needs.
Half Moon Bay and the famed Mavericks surf spot are a 20-minute drive South.
As Pacifica is situated on HWY. 1, take a scenic drive South to Santa Cruz or Monterrey/Big Sur (1 or 2 hours respectively, each way).
Our local Sharp Park golf course and Pacifica's fishing pier and pier walk are all a 8-10 min. drive.
Park and Ride at Linda Mar to catch a short bus ride to BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) to take public transportation into San Francisco or Berkeley/Oakland.
San Francisco's Fort Funston for dogs or hang gliders, Lake Merced for rowers or joggers, and the San Francisco Zoo are a 15-20 minute drive. Be in Downtown San Francisco or at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) in 20 minutes.
Her house has beautiful views and is in a quiet neighborhood. Ines is very friendly but is still professional and the room feels private.
My friend and I stayed at Ines' place for one night before we started driving down the coast. Ines was very accommodating, and the place has a great mountain view. Ines was not there to greet us, but she arranged her daughter to help us settle in. I would highly recommend this place.
Inez made us feel very welcome by having the room completely ready, and even allowing us to arrive a bit earlier in the day. Fresh water in a bottle awaited us on the table near the windows, and all looked close to the photos and description we had read. We had access to making hot drinks, and we welcomed one morning with a freshly baked loaf of pumpkin walnut bread. We loved the spacious room, the comfy bed, the big windows overlooking the woodlands and mountain, and the quiet neighborhood. We hiked the trail at the end of the street as well as biking the trail below. We look forward to returning to Pacifica and Inez's home for another close-to-home getaway!
This is such a nice place for all of us who want to have some quiet days but still be very close to San Francisco and SFO.
The room has this beautiful view on to the Pacifica hills, obstructed by nothing. During the day you might hear one or the other truck or some hammering from the park grounds that are located at quite a distance below the house. At night you hear just nothing, maybe some of the abundant deer silently chewing on Inés' garden plants, which makes her understandably desperate.
Inés is such a warm-hearted, friendly and humorous host amd still offers all the privacy you might need. The room is on its own level in the hose and you have your own bathroom adjacent to it, which is a great plus. The kitchen is shared, so any heavy use would better be discussed upfront. Also no real office chair or desk, in case somebody is lookimg for that. I did not need both, so no worries here.
With a five minutes walk you are down at the end of Linda Mar Blvd at the entrance of the park where at least three very nice trails start, offering terrific views across the peninsula. With a five minutes drive you are down at Highway #1. I think it could not be any better.
We had a wonderful stay with Ines. She made us feel welcome. The listing was accurate. The neighborhood was close to everything we needed.
We absolutely loved staying with Ines! She is a fantastically warm and considerate host, and made us feel so welcome (even sharing her homemade pumpkin bread with us one morning!). The guest space was wonderful - very spacious, private, clean and cozy (and with a sublime view of the lush hills of the park behind the house). The house is also in a very peaceful and safe neighborhood, while still being super convenient to get to San Francisco - we drove in to spend the day and it was all very easy to get there from Pacifica (perhaps 40 mins right on to Market St!). Another bonus is Ines' house is only a few minutes to the pretty Pacifica beach.
We would not hesitate to come back or to recommend Ines' place wholeheartedly!
I cannot recommend Ines and her accommodation highly enough. She was very welcoming and helpful with information, including printing us out (website hidden) maps for how to get to the airport. It is a stunning area with the state park at the top of the road. The room was very clean and comfy and Ines is very friendly.
I am an Etsy shop owner who makes quilts and cotton goods/gifts from my workshop space at home: (website hidden) or (website hidden). Also, as an Artist Guild member, I've been involved in Pacifica art shows for years.
Italy and Europe in general are my favorite travel destinations!
I love meeting new people doing interesting things.
