Perfect for couples seeking a quiet escape, magical scenery, and a relaxing base to explore the Isle of Skye.

The space
Situated in our large private garden, this cosy yet spacious architect-designed cabin offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by beautiful scenery. Built on the site of a former stone shed and thoughtfully reimagined by a local architect, it combines modern comfort with the charm and character of the original setting.

Guests enter via a porch area for jackets and boots, with a desk space perfect for catching up on emails or planning your day. The light-filled kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, washing machine, cooker with hob and oven, sink, kettle, toaster, coffee machine and all cooking utensils. The dining area sits in front of a large window looking out towards Staffin Bay, and we provide a starter pack of essentials such as milk, bread, tea coffee and lots of snacks to get your stay off to a smooth start.

The bedroom and sitting area are spacious with vaulted ceilings and a king-size double bed. Enjoy cosy SkyeSkyns sheepskin rugs, and in the sitting area, relax with a record player, magazines, or walking books. Patio doors open onto wooden decking with uninterrupted views of the world-famous Quiraing, stretching along the Trotternish Ridge to Staffin Bay. On clear nights, the skies are perfect for stargazing—and with luck, you may catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

The ensuite bathroom is large and modern, with a power shower, toiletries, fluffy towels, and a hairdryer, ensuring a comfortable stay. The bothy has electric heating, keeping the space warm and cosy, and fast, free Wi-Fi is included for guests who wish to stay connected.

Whether you’re visiting for hiking, photography, exploring Skye, or simply relaxing, our bothy offers a magical, peaceful escape with some of the island’s most stunning scenery at your doorstep.

Guest access
The bothy is completely self-contained, and you’ll have privacy during your stay. While the bothy is adjacent to our home, we live on the property and are available if you need assistance, but otherwise respect your space completely. We love meeting guests but also appreciate your privacy

Hello I'm Joanna. I was born and grew up on the Isle of Skye and have been lucky enough to live here all my life. I married Allan in 2003 and bought a old Croft house in 2002. We have done a full renovation and extension and managed to keep the character of a old house with a modern feel. Then in 2016 we completed our Bothy. We have two children Lexy and Lachlann. Who keep me very busy!
