Sunny, Comfortable & Quiet Studio

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Beukenweg, Amsterdam, NH, Netherlands

The Space

Welcome to Amsterdam. This private studio is the top floor of a residental home. It features an open space with a living, dining, cooking and sleeping area. The separate bathroom (with bathtub and natural light!) is for your use only. Lots of windows allow sunlight in all day. The wooden floor and mostly natural materials make for an inviting and comfortable ambiance.

The studio is located right next to Oosterpark, one of the largest parks in Amsterdam. Only steps away you will find various restaurants, shops and a large organic food store. The city center is easily reachable by metro (10 min to Central Station), and the tram on the corner takes you all around town. The Dappermarket, a very popular market with foods from all over the world, is just a few blocks away. A walk through Oosterpark will lead you into a beautiful part of town that is not very well known to most visitors. It is the Plantagebuurt, home to the Artis Zoo and the excellent Tropenmuseum (Tropical Museum).

The apartment belongs to a friend of ours who asked us to take care of it. It has been completely refurnished with good beds with down duvets, a comfortable couch, and a fully equipped kitchen with gas burners and an electric oven. Should you want to do a washing, there are Miele washing and drying machines available.

We hope that you will like it as much as we do.

It could be the ideal hide-out for a romantic weekend. It also lends itself to be your cozy home during a business trip. Or your just enjoy its simple and calming pleasures after a long day of exploring the many facets of lively Amsterdam.

Since the apartment is on the 4th floor with typical Amsterdam narrow stairs leading up to it, and no lift, we discourage you from booking this apartment if you are unable to handle your own luggage.

Our own house is just a ten minutes bike ride away - if you should need us :-)

Yours, Annette & Jelmar

  • Bright an clean apartment in calm area. It's not in the center but you can reach it by walk. It's very easy to park if you have a car. There is a park, a bar and a very nice restaurant (called BOOM) nearby. Annette is a great host with easy rules!

  • The studio was indeed very confortable, sunny and quiet. I would recommend it for a couple looking for a nice quiet getaway in Amsterdam.
For us it was perfect : located just far enough of the city center to see something new after several stays in Amsterdam and close enough to walk (20 minutes walk to the center).
Overall a very nice stay and great location.

  • We stayed just 3 nights. It's not really in the city center but just 3 stop by metro. The flat is clean and there is this weird floor not plane, typical from this country. It was full of surprises but fun. The owner are helpful. the area is calm.
Enjoy this flat and thank you Jelmar.

  • Lovely, bright, clean apartment on great location. Perfect for the purpose (I had to be in Amsterdam for work). Just a great stay. Annette is a great host. Would definitely go back.

  • Everything was good! The apartment was very comfortable, clean, full of light. We enjoyed our staying in Amsterdam! Thanks Annette!
The only thing we did not like, non-working internet.

  • I enjoyed my stay in the Annette's studio. The apartment is entirely an Amsterdam experience, with a very narrow staircase and slightly slanted floor. The decor is simple and tasteful. I appreciated the extra light from the skylights and afternoon sun through the back window. The apartment was well-equipped with a hair dryer, coffee press, dishwashing liquid, and other essentials. If I hadn't rented a bike, I would have gotten a transport pass as the location is quite a walk from Jordaan and the 9 Streets neighborhoods. A tram passes right in front of the apartment.

  • the studio is vey clean, nice and cozy. it has everything you need when you come visit this beautiful city. the location is good, there is a beautiful park (oosterpark) just across the street , a supermarket and a bar nearby, and most importantly, the tram station to go to the center (7 minutes ride) is just one minute walk away. when you have a good weather is also possible to walk to the center. the Wi-Fi comes and goes but was fine overall. the staircase is very narrow and steep so it's a bit hard to carry the suitcase (so you better bring a small one..:) but without it it's just fine. Annette was very nice host, she was helpful and communicative. thank you Annette:)

My name is Annette, based in Amsterdam. I've lived in Düsseldorf, Brussels, London, Geneva, Munich and Heidelberg. Four years ago I moved to Amsterdam where I currently work as a freelance writer, translator, yoga teacher and trainer. I have done many different things in my life: running a PR agency and a yoga centre, counseling people on business and private matters and training young professionals in all communication. However, there is a common thread that binds all these activities. Everything had to do with people. I consider myself a creative generalist that strives on seeing people happy and living their best lives.
