We have a lovely 2 story home on the north side of Durango. We live upstairs, the downstairs is pretty separate with a bedroom (new queen bed + kid's bed/futon lounge), private bathroom that's been newly remodeled. Great for 1-2 adults. Access to decks, kitchen, laundry.
Our home has wood and slate floors, warm decor & colors. Of course, we wash all the bedding, towels, etc. and throughly clean the space so it is fresh and clean for your arrival.
We are happy to allow you to use the kitchen, wi-fi, laundry, storage closet for bikes/gear, living room, porches for lounging and will happily drop you off downtown if we are heading that way (5 min drive).
We are a busy family with a young child and dog. You must be ok with both to stay. We will give you plenty of privacy and space to do your thing.
Great access to free city trolley along Main Ave, 4 blocks from Animas River and bike trail providing quick access for a ride/run/free trolley to library, science museum, and downtown. Tons of hiking/snowshoeing on trails in and out of town. If you are driving we are 20 minutes from Purgatory Resort, 10 minutes from Trimble Hot Springs, 45 minutes to Silverton. It's a sweet spot that invites wanderlust travelers who want to check out all that Durango has to share. Festivals every week, 5 microbrews, small clubs and fantastic restaurants. Snowdown in February. Durango's a great place to visit!
Free Main Ave trolley between downtown north to 36th street running every half hour or so. Also $1 bus up to Fort Lewis College and great concerts up there. We have a city map for you in the bedroom!
Thanks for your interest. I'm happy to share more information, websites, phone numbers of local joints if you'd like to plan your adventures ahead of time. Don't hesitate to ask.
Wonderful place for my 3 year old daughter and I. Traveling thru the San Juan's for a long weekend, my needs were simple and that was to make sure my daughter was happy the whole trip. Amron went above and beyond to make my daughter feel at home! A very sweet family and I highly recommend staying here. The room and beds were more then comfortable.
Beautiful space and a nice location to downtown. Would stay again if in Durango again
This was our first experience with airb&b, and it was great! The home was fantastic, we loved all of the art and the room was perfect. It was quiet and peaceful, met Luck and Griz and both were a treat. We'll definitely be back and highly recommend! Thank you for the wonderful weekend!
My fiancé and I stayed here for one night while we were passing through Durango. Amron and her family were fantastic. They were incredibly nice and had a nice fire burning upon our arrival. The space is downstairs and the bedroom is quite roomy. The bathroom is a bit snug, but has a wonderful shower and other basic necessities. Wifi was easy to access and worked without any problems. Downtown is only a short drive. There was a kettle available in the room although we didn't use it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
We highly recommend this host and her space. We came 4 hours from Albuquerque, NM on our way to see Mesa Verde Nat'l Park. This was a very comfortable stopping point, a little over an hour to Mesa Verde Nat'l Park, where decent accommodations are scarce. Though we arrived at 9 PM, Amron was waiting for us and helped us get settled in. Parking is just outside the lower entrance, where a level walk into a newly decorated and beautiful space provided clean and spacious private room & bath. Bed is new and very comfortable, and it was very quiet. We left in the morning well rested, and followed Amron's advice to a fabulous local restaurant for breakfast. It was easy from there to Mesa Verde, and we enjoyed that trip very much. We're sorry we didn't have more time in Durango, as we can see there's a lot to enjoy there. Thanks Amron!
My husband and were in for a quick and busy 3 days and 4 nights with friends over the holidays. Our stay was enhanced by the easy location to Durango, shopping and walks with our dog. Amron and family charming and welcoming each and every day. Our comforts were the Gravetts dedication in every way. From coffee and tea to plenty of space, privacy and the cozy fire keeping us 'desert-rats' toasty on those chilly mornings in December. We came and went as we pleased but felt as if coming 'home' every time! Could not have been nicer.
We just popped over to Durango for one night to escape some bad weather in Moab. The room and bathroom are clean and modern with a comfortable bed. The great location and generous hosts made this an awesome place to stay! One super cool kid and one very sweet dog made our greeting and departure extra special and we highly recommend this home for your stay in Durango!
Amron was warm and welcoming from the minute we walked in the door! she was very informative and directed us to an amazing hike that we immediately went on :) her house was very unique and very clean. she left water and a pot to make coffee/tea which was very nice. we had a lot of privacy unless we didn't need it and then she was right there giving us advice and her local knowledge. her son was adorable and hilarious. the house was in a short walking distance to a shuttle that goes directly into town, and if you have a car, i would say it was a short 5-10 minute drive into the main street with pubs and shops and a short bike ride. i would love to visit again and recommend that if you are looking for a local place to stay that is clean and very unique, i would definitely stay with Amron and her family! Thank you again!
I enjoyed my stay with Amron. The room was generous and comfortable. Location is near everything.
