This beautiful part of San Francisco is called Land's End...as we are on the edge of the Pacific Ocean. The house was built by Adolf Sutro as one of his guest cottages. The ruins of his mansion are 3 blocks away in beautiful Sutro Park overlooking the Sutro Baths and the blue Pacific. Explore the Baths and the hiking trails along the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking views of the Golden Gate Bridge, ride bikes in Golden Gate Park, surf the famed Ocean Beach break, hop on a bus and check out North Beach, Union Square, the Ferry Building or just put your feet up and relax in a quiet SF beach neighborhood.
Come out and stay on the Left Coast, literally.
Quiet residential neighborhood filled with people who love living near the beach. Bonus: the close proximity to Land's End and the fabulous trails that skirt the bluffs above the sea. Easy access to / from both north and south of the city.
2 and 3 blocks from 3 separate bus lines. Easy
Guests enter and exit the private studio via my garage. My guests have their own set of keys to both the garage door and the studio door. There is a deck / patio in the back of the house my guests are encouraged to enjoy.
I invite you to interact with me as much or as little as you would like! The studio apt is on the lower level of my home, and I work from home. I enjoy getting to know my guests, offering ideas and suggestions of things to do, places to go, etc .... or stay out of the way and offer as much privacy as my guests desire.
Usually, free street parking is available directly in front of my house.
I'm excited for you to discover why I love living where I live. I am a 2-minute walk from the beach ... and I never tire of being mesmerized by waves. The Land's End Coastal Trail is a 5-minute walk away and it's a unique experience to run/hike it every single time - the weather changes the view, I meet new people and visit with the "regulars", find a new trail to discover something I hadn't seen before. Always invigorating! But there is no denying that this quiet residential neighborhood, with plenty of free parking, at the beach!, in one of the best cities in the world! is exactly where I belong.
Public transport by bus to take you anywhere in the city is a 5-minute walk from my home.
Other Things to Note
The studio is not equipped for cooking, nor do I own a microwave. If you wish to use my kitchen during your stay, please let me know, you are more than welcome to do so when I am home.
Absolutely NO SMOKING or drugs on property - please respect this rule. I do not want my home smelling of smoke.
Laurie was a great host. Before our stay she checked in with us multiple times, which let me know I chose the right place. Once there She warmly greeted us and made us lovely sweets. A parking spot was provided, which is greatly appreciated in San Francisco. The studio was well prepared with food, drinks, towels and toiletries. I was really impressed with the decor and felt right at home. The bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend staying with Laurie at her charming studio.
If you are looking for the perfect host, you have found her. Laurie was inviting, friendly and welcoming. She was there to greet us personally when we drove into San Francisco to give us our keys, gave us tons of tips on how to best enjoy the city and even had fresh chocolate chip cookies waiting on us. Laurie is exceptionally personable and absolutely loves having guests enjoy her AirBNB. The space was very clean, spacious and charming complete with a full bathroom, big screen tv, walk in closet, mini refrigerator and kitchen space to prepare coffee and breakfasts. And the location was wonderful! About a two block walk from the beautiful Ocean Beach and walking distance to a grocery store, public transportation, and several restaurants including a wonderful coffee shop called Providence Cafe. A perfect stay for anybody looking for a relaxing, charming get away with a very gracious host.
I have stayed in a lot of airbnbs, and the experience has always been great, but with Laurie it was truly outstanding. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and at home. The studio is much larger than what you see in the pictures, with a small kitchen, table, bathroom, living room with a tv and a lovely patio. It also has every amenity one could imagine. We loved staying right by the beach, with gorgeous views and just minutes from Golden Gate Park and the Land's End trail. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to San Francisco. Thanks so much for everything Laurie!
Thank you Laurie
Laurie is the epitome of a perfect airbnb host. You really can't ask for anyone better. Her place was wonderful, had more amenities than my own home, and the experience from check in through check out was seamless. I can't say enough about how great of a host she truly is. If you want the peaceful side of San Francisco, and a spot where you're taken care of and immediately feel like you're home, choose this.
This is a warm and wonderful home away from home. You will not find a better more caring and warm host. Location is great along with easy public transportation acess. Can also walk to some of the major sights in the area or hop a bus to go to down town San Francisco. Highly recommend this property. The listing information and photos are very accurate and it is keept very clean.
I can not say enough about our great experience with Laurie! It was just as listed and so much more. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome! She was so friendly and helpful with planning our stay and while we were there. She even had toys for our daughter! The place is very relaxing and I will recommend to anyone going to San Fransisco!
About the Host, Laurie
I LOVE San Francisco!! I mean, I am IN LOVE with San Francisco!
I am not a native, but I have adopted this city as my own, and proudly call her my home.
Every time I drive, bicycle or run across the Golden Gate Bridge it feels like its the first time - it never gets old. The ever-changing weather makes for amazing ever-changing views and vistas. San Francisco is filled with great restaurants, bars, coffee shops and cafes, music venues, museums, parks, festivals, diverse neighborhoods, shopping and outdoor recreational opportunities. I feel incredibly fortunate to live at the beach, at Land’s End, yet still be just minutes away from the vibrant pulse of this city. Airbnb allows me to share all this with my guests from around the world -- Welcome!
