We would be very happy to spend some time with our guests if they wish it and Andrew speaks German ! We can provide a very good breakfast if requested in advance with eggs from our own hens, local smoked salmon and local free range bacon at a cost of 10 euro per person.
The cottage is approximately 1 1/2 km from the nearest village which is on a main bus route to Cork City and also to all the major towns in West Cork; Clonakilty,Bandon,Skibbereen and Bantry. The cottage is a 20 minute drive from the airport and there is also a bus service to Cork City which is 10 minutes from the airport where one can then get a bus to Innishannon ,our local village. There is private off street parking at our property.
We would not like our guests to smoke in the cottage but there is a patio outside where you can smoke.
The cottage is not suitable for extra guests and there is only sleeping accomodation for 2 adults or a couple and one child.
Dogs can be accomodated on request but dogs would not be permitted in the apartment .
Isabelle and Andrew were wonderful hosts; warm, welcoming and hospitable. As mentioned by others there were fresh eggs from their chickens, lovely home made jams, breakfast supplies and milk all provided. And for me, a big plus, was lots of pets to make a fuss of if I wanted to.
The cottage is delightful. The bed is lovely and comfortable, the shower was hot and good water pressure. There is lots of information in the cottage about places to visit and Isabelle and Andrew gave even more detailed information. I recommend this cottage to anyone who likes living in the countryside with all home comforts.
What a lovely 2 nights my husband & I spent at Isabelle & Andrew's charming guest cottage at Innishannon.
The cottage has everything you need (and more) for a comfortable holiday. An added bonus was the fresh bread, milk, & jam as well as fruit from our hosts own garden & eggs from their chickens.
Our hosts gave us the warmest of
welcomes and took the time to share a pot of tea with us and fill us in on the local sights, restaurants etc -it was greatly appreciated.
The apartment is beautifully decorated and has one of the prettiest bedrooms I've seen!
We loved everything! We were greeted warmly, shown our lovely accommodation, given a tour of the gardens, provided with home grown produce, including fresh eggs from the resident hens. The cottage is perfect, everything provided is of very good quality, the bed is super comfortable.
Andrew & Isabelle, were most gracious hosts, they provided excellent information on the local area and were a delight to have a conversation with. New were very sad to leave.
We were welcomed by Isabelle and Andrew with fresh bread, organic eggs, coffee/cream, and preserves from their garden and even though we arrived earlier than expected, they graciously welcomed us and gave us a tour of the property. Being right on the river, there was a wonderful wooded walk alongside the river for quiet walks in the morning. Innishannon was a small area just outside of Cork, so it made the trip to and from the airport quick and easy, just 20 minutes, but felt like we were in the countryside. The cottage was newly constructed and had all of the comforts we could ask for, including a garden area to have coffee in the morning.
I stayed at Isabelle's place with my mother for a short break and we will surely return. It is exactly as pictured in the listing: comfortable, well equipped and yet idyllic and close to nature so we really felt at home and quickly relaxed.
Isabelle and Andrew are great hosts really went out of their way to provide us with the little things that made our stay memorable: homemade bread and jam and eggs from their chickens and plums from their trees and some great tips for local touring. West Cork is beautiful and I would recommend this listing unreservedly as great value for money and unique in character.
We had a great stay in Innishannon with Isabelle and Andrew. Their cottage was beautiful, comfortable & equipped with everything we needed for our stay, including fresh produce from their wonderful garden. They were lovely hosts who went out of their way to make sure we got the most out of our short visit. We hope our paths cross again!
My husband and I stayed at Isabelle's Innishannon cottage last week. We found the cottage to be exactly as described and in immaculate condition. The garden and lake are beautiful and the river walk behind the house is a must. The welcome we got from Isabelle and Richard was warm and friendly. They provided wholesome breakfast supplies including free-range eggs from their own hens! All in all, a very pleasant getaway.

Andrew speaks German and reasonable French. He is also a great cook ! We look forward to sharing this lovely place where we are lucky enough to live, with other airbnb members.
