A cozy cabin for couples, complete with a jetted tub! There’s a well outfitted kitchenette for all basic cooking needs and a covered porch that looks out to the Appalachian Trail and National Forest property. Convenient two minute drive or ten minute walking distance to Hot Springs downtown.

The space
Chickadee Cabin is a charming cabin conveniently located within walking distance to Hot Springs downtown as well as being adjacent to the wild expanse of Pisgah National Forest and the Appalachian Trail.

BEDROOM
Couples will enjoy the master bedroom which has a queen bed, Roku TV, and a luxurious jetted tub to relax in. Blackout curtains ensure a great night's rest.

PORCH
The covered porch is ideal for a morning cup of coffee with the songbirds or a night grilling out on the charcoal grill.

KITCHENETTE / COMMON AREA
In the common area, you'll find the kitchenette, dining area, and two single beds. The beds are not private so are best for extra lounging space or for kids!

The cabin's well-stocked kitchenette includes an InstantPot, microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, induction burner and pots, and all basic dishes and flatware.

APPALACHIAN TRAIL
Chickadee Cabin offers incredible access to the Southern trailhead of the Appalachian Trail which is located literally 100 steps from the front door. Head left to hike down into town, or right to head up on your trail adventure, immediately leaving town behind and surrounding yourself with nature.

Chickadee shares an interior wall with an adjacent cabin (Goldfinch). Each cabin has its own private parking and private entrance. Shared wall is soundproofed for privacy.

Neighborhood highlights

Chickadee Cabin is located near town, directly adjacent to National Forest, and only steps from the southern entrance to the Appalachian Trail. We would guess that we are 78 steps away, but haven't actually counted :) The AT will cruise you straight on in to Hot Springs downtown, no car required. The walk takes about 10 minutes.

A three minute drive will land you at the famous Hot Springs Spa and Resort, where you can soak in Hot Springs' naturally heated mineral tubs. For a real "day at the spa," check out their massages as well!

I grew up in the much rockier Rocky Mountains of Colorado, raising goats, chickens, rabbits, horses, and a rotating selection of other farm critters with my parents and my younger sister. I moved to North Carolina in 2009 and have spent much of my time gardening, studying wild edible and medicinal plants of the Appalachian Mountains, building and remodeling, and raising and milking a few more rogue goats. I live just outside of Hot Springs on a sunny hillside with my husband Andrew and daughters Chloe and Ruth. I love to welcome folk to Hot Springs and the surrounding area, so don't hesitate to ask me for hiking recommendations, the inside scoop on local swimming holes, or where to find homemade Appalachian crafts!
