About this listing
This apartment's been an art gallery, a performance space, a recording studi... located in the heart of the Mile End, doors away from cafes, restaurants, venues, galleries, and shops. Two floors, two bedrooms. Charming & comfortable "CASTLE RUINS"!
This apartment's been an art gallery, a performance space, a recording studio, and for the last 5 years, my home. It's located in the heart of the Mile End, doors away from cafes, restaurants, venues, galleries, and shops. There are two floors with two bedrooms (both on the second floor & usually I stay in one of them). The main guest room has air conditioning in the summer and solid heat in the winter, a T.V. & DVD player & Wii, and tea making facilities. The basic/minimal kitchen downstairs is at your disposal, the shower has reliable hot water and great water pressure.
The flat is a just few minutes walk to Laurier metro, a block from 2 BIXI bike stations, and a block from the St. Urbain bus stop (the 55) running south towards downtown, and the St. Laurent (also the 55) running north towards Little Italy & the Jean Talon market. There isn't a dedicated parking spot but there is almost always a safe free spot (residential, no charge) within a minute or two walk of the flat (you can usually leave the car for a few days).
I work in independent music & arts & welcome guests looking for a private cozy room in a home with character, located in the center of one of the most beloved neighborhoods in Montreal.
The space can be rented as a single room (shared common space) with a full (2 places) bed or the entire 2 bedroom (2 full beds + up to 6 floor mattresses). Just contact me about your groups needs and I can put together a special offer!
TV w/Netflix & Bluray, Wii, stereo, minimal kitchen, bathroom, shower, heat
Interaction with Guests
If I am there I do like meeting people but I'm away a lot and I do like to give people privacy!
Bixi, bus, metro.
- There's no smoking inside but there's a patio out back belonging to my neighbors but you can smoke out there.
- Though the pet hair left behind can be a bit much, I love pets and can probably work something out.
Brendan's flat is very nice, the decor was neat. Communication was easy and although he wasn't in town at the time he arranged for a friend to help with anything we may need.
Very charming building with lots of character!
The apartment and Brendan are wonderful. It is in an excellent location and it worked perfect for us. Definitely recommended.
Brendan was such a welcoming host! Our group felt very comfortable, and enjoyed his eclectic space. Also, the location couldn't be more perfect! Great shops, bars, restaurants...check out Sparrow (best brunch and drinks). Lovely home base to explore the best of Montreal. Definitely stay here!
The location is great - everything you could need is close, and the Bixi bike stations made getting to any of the sites around other parts of the city a breeze. Parking was a bit tricky as more of the spots on the street have become pay spots, but we got lucky the second day and found a spot on a residential street two blocks away where we were able to leave our car for the rest of the weekend without worry. The main floor was a bit more "lived-in" than the pictures showed, but the bedroom was airy and clean and the skylight cupola over the bathroom is beautiful. Wifi worked great. Brendan was away but very responsive and helpful.
Brendan was amazing and so accommodating, particularly since we booked at the very last minute! The place was comfortable and artsy and clean, and the room was very spacious. Brendan went above and beyond any expectations to make our stay comfortable and convenient. He responded to messages within minutes where possible and meeting up was easy and convenient. Thanks for a great stay!
