The dirt road alone is an uphill 30 minute drive of potholes but the directions worked and we actually found it. Make sure you have an all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive and enough gas! If I were the host on Airbnb I would definitely put up a few signs for my guests to help them o…

I think if Heidi was the Airbnb host she would know that signs on her neighbors properties would would require their support and more. I find most guests are able to use the odometer directions as Heidi noted she did and usually express appreciation for how accurate they are. If Heidi had alerted me to the TP issue I would have let her know I had extra on hand. I give all guests my cell phone number to contact me directly regarding any issues. I had a tenant move out within a week after her stay due in part to his dogs damaging a couch that I think her review refers to. I have since removed the couch from our property. I have many guests who love visiting and others who have a challenge with the off grid/rugged nature due to wanting and comparing us to the experience of a high end resort -- while I'd love to provide that I find it a challenge to keep up everything at such a remote and beautiful location.. I appreciate help from people including guests that are willing to pitch in and help care for the place even if it's just leaving it a bit cleaner than how they receive it. I find tables for example get broken from people sitting and standing on them in ways that damage the structure. I do my best to keep them repaired. I wonder why I provide outdoor tables if people are going to have an issue with them as I do not usually list them in our listings as an amenity. Heidi's spot at the ridge had a metal table that was fully functioning with chairs so I wonder why she's referring to a table at a different listing. I think guests will enjoy their stay more if they plan for mosquitoes.. I suggest bringing bug spray and long shirts/pants for golden hour. I have a small family living on the property near the pond that moved in a month or two ago and usually seems to get along well with guests - they built a wall between their space and the pond to help provide guests more comfort while visiting the pond. I would have clarified this for her if she had asked. Camping is at the end of the road which dead ends at the corner of the ridge which Heidi refers to as a "driveway". Tents may be placed along the end of the road and there is a space at the very top overlooking the valley below for one tent. Anyway, I have many guests that only visit the ridge and are ecstatic with just experiencing the amazing view from there and find the other features on our property to be bonuses that are well worth the drive/visit.

The Santa Cruz mountains are rugged and beautiful. This is a really nice part of California, but watch out the place is tough to find, so use your odometer.

The area was great, once we found it. The directions given were VERY unclear and not up to date. We had to ask several people along the way, who were also not very clear on the directions. If we had an easier time finding it, the stay might have been better.

Response from Mitchel:
I regularly receive appreciation from people regarding the directions and how accurate they are. I think it depends on the navigator and how comfortable they are using odometer readings. I recommend arriving during day time to help with navigation.

Did the drive up here with 2wd higher clearing vehicle (road was dry) it’s at times a sketchy drive but it’s more than worth it for the view. People live up here and drive it all the time, be a man. Nice that there’s a bathroom and shower (not hot water unless I couldn’t figure i…

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL spot. Fire pit was a bit of a walk from campsite so I recommend starting it a good bit before sundown. (We made this mistake). Overall we had a great time. Mitchel was very helpful.

This is an amazing camping spot, with a million dollar view. It's pretty incredible how close it is to Silicon Valley, yet how far away you feel from everything when you're there. We met Mitchel as well, he's a very nice and helpful host. We'll definitely be back for another …

Great site! Needed a place to stay for the night on my west coast touring trip and this fit since all other sites in the area were booked for the busy summer. I did what all the other reviews said not to do and went at night on my motorcycle. My motorcycle is a naked sport bike w…

I'm a hippie at heart and love living in the Santa Cruz mountains! Looking for an investor in the property. To build it out as a retreat center and/or tech incubator.
