  • My girlfriend and I stayed in the studio for a week while remotely working and exploring all the area had to offer. Whether it was taking a few steps down to the beach on our “lunch break” or escaping a little early to drive up to Half Moon Bay, this location is really terrific.

Each morning we made it our routine to walk over to Verve Coffee (the best coffee in town!), followed by a hello to the morning waves. Groceries, food stops, and other activities are a short drive away. Nothing was more than a 15 minute drive even during local “rush hour” traffic. We also made it a point to cook a fair amount in the kitchen and enjoy local wines while relaxing at night.

Courtney was quick to respond to our concerns about the wifi speed given our first emails (email hidden)/work space for the week. Basic internet activities worked well, but don’t count on the connection for video conferences or (website hidden) calls. Despite that not being ideal, it faired well enough and Courtney was apologetic about the issue having never heard of a concern before us.

An earmark is that the description of the space at the time of our rental wasn’t clear that the studio was attached to a larger home with a separate entry a few feet away. While it was not a concern for the week we visited (the home rental was vacant), we could see how noise may become an issue when a family arrived on our last day. They had a little one running up and down the stairs and we could hear muffled conversations and heavy footed adults above; likely something that would grow old over a week if you required “focused time” during your stay. This would absolutely depend on who may be renting the home space, but it's worth considering.

Overall I’d definitely recommend this spot. It’s hard to beat this location and the wonderful home Courtney has opened to guests. Thanks to him and we quite enjoyed spending time in such a wonderful city!

  • This is a lovely studio in the heart of Seabright, one of Santa Cruz's nicest neighborhoods. It was absolutely spotless, well-equipped for cooking your own meals, and within walking distance of everything you could possibly want. The beach is just steps away, and there are several excellent restaurants and bars just a short walk away. It is even walking distance to the boardwalk and the theater. Go, park your car and enjoy!

  • My boyfriend and I spent a fantastic weekend in Courtney's studio. The location is excellent – only a few steps from the beach – and the neighborhood is very quiet and safe. The studio faces the back, so we could hardly hear any noise coming from the streets. We were there two weekends ago, when the weather had just turned cooler, but the studio had good heating.

The place is spacious, very modern and extremely well kept. The bed and mattress were very comfortable (we slept really well!), and Courtney kindly provided bed linen. He also provided towels and shampoo/conditioner. The bathroom was very clean, with a bathtub for long, relaxing baths. Also, the water pressure for showers was perfect. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for cooking meals, including a toaster oven, stove, coffee maker, and several different sized pans, pots, and bowls. The owners also provided salt, pepper, tea, and coffee, which made us feel even more welcomed.

There isn't a lot nearby in terms of grocery stores so it is best to bring a car, but having said this, we actually didn’t bring a car, and yet we managed perfectly fine just by walking everywhere. There is a convenience store nearby (10 minutes’ walk) which has some basics to home cook meals.

Courtney was always very quick to respond to our questions, and also very flexible with the check-in/check-out times, which was definitely a plus for us.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again when we next plan a trip to Santa Cruz. Thank you, Courtney!

  • Great location! Seabright beach is literally steps away, and the boardwalk is a short jaunt away. Parking was easy and available.

Studio was very clean when we arrived and felt very homey. It was fully stocked with kitchen supplies, towels, shampoo/conditioner, soap, etc. Felt about the size of a hotel room, but with a full kitchen, and half the cost!

There was also a list of restaurants nearby that was very nice of the hosts to leave. I would definitely recommend staying here again!

  • The best place to stay in Santa Cruz. Courtney was friendly, professional, helpful and quick to respond. In all areas he's earned a 10+. The location is excellent. The room is clean, comfy and spacious. Honestly, for the price, you will not find another place like this.

  • We had an incredible stay here at the Seabright Studio. We arrived and the place was very clean. It is in a perfect location. It was so fun being able to walk to the beach and being so close to all the great restaurants in Santa Cruz. Courtney was great to work with and was quick to respond to any of my questions. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would go there again next time we travel in that direction.

  • Can't say enough good things about this fantastic stay! The studio is clean, bright, and super comfortable. It's also steps from the beach, just head down the little stairway from the quiet neighborhood street. This end of the beach is quiet and lovely, and it's only a short walk along the sand to the Santa Cruz boardwalk, shops, restaurants and amusement park. The studio's also a very short walk to coffee shops and great dinner spots if you head into town. If you want to cook at home while you're here, the kitchenette is all set up with all the kitchen tools you'd need to make a nice meal.

Courtney and Mary were also wonderful hosts! We wanted to head straight from San Francisco to Big Sur on our first day, and when we asked them about check-in times they were incredibly flexible and let us set our own schedule so we could make the most of our time in the park. When we arrived and they found out I was traveling with my brother, and we were planning on splitting the queen bed or one of us taking the floor, they went out of their way to bring an aero bed down from the main house for us, and even set it up! We had the good fortune of meeting them since they were in town, they're incredibly nice and so welcoming, and had good tips on all the cool things to do in Santa Cruz.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay and a wonderful AirBNB experience. Definitely recommended if you're headed to the area. Thanks again Courtney & Mary for helping make our weekend trip so great!!
