Message us if you don't see your dates we don't list all availability! Welcome to our sweet little crown jewel - a vintage Victorian lovingly restored by hand to bring out all her sweetness and light. She sits in the center of it all - Hawthorne, Division, Lardo, Teote, Cartopia, Coffee shops & more. Bikescore 100 (with Biketown station on corner)! Walkscore 92! You'll love our place because of the neighborhood, light, & clean modern vintage vibe blending old & new.

The space
EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE! We do not discriminate. Period.
If you have any questions about this feel free to get in touch with us!

We love this cozy home and know you will too. We take great pride in making you feel welcome and cared for. From the fresh fruit picked from our organic trees (when in season!), to making sure our all cotton sheets/duvets and feather pillows/comforters nestle your body in warmth and tenderness - we hope you feel the love and care we put into your stay.

And I can't help but emphasize (read: brag!) -- I just looked at what Airbnb is offering as "similar listings" to ours and well, there's no comparison. This is not a private room in a house, or a converted garage, or side dining room that had an exterior entrance added on -- this is a comfy, sweet, healthy home! (And I say healthy because we only use all natural cleaning supplies and detergents such as BioKleen and 7th Generation. Rest here knowing our skin and noses are as sensitive as yours and we love our earth too!)

The tv room also can serve as a bedroom, but do note that the stairs to the attic bedroom are through that space. The bed in the tv room is a low couch that is the size of a twin bed (white leather couch in pictures). We are happy to make it up as a bed for you or leave it as a couch and have bedding handy for you to make if you choose.

We have just added a bedroom in the lovely attic space. The stairs are completed and we are happy to expand into this calm space. That room (the size of the whole house) has a queen bed. BUT PLEASE NOTE the stair to the attic is a spiral type ships ladder/stair (see picture) so not safe for all people (little children without supervision, elderly, any others who may find navigating this type of stair difficult - such as inebriated folks! ;) etc.). This is very important to note and consider for your group.

We look forward to answering any questions you may have and welcoming you to our home!

Guest access
You will have access to the whole interior and front and side porches.

Other things to note
1. This house is in the city and in a busier commercial area. You will hear some street noise (but Portland quiets down around 10pm) and people enjoying the restaurants nearby (that close around 10). This is part of what makes this space fun, but if you need to fall asleep early you'll want to bring your ear-plugs (it is not overpoweringly loud, but you will hear noise).

2. Since we get travelers from everywhere, we've found it is useful to mention: We are in the city of Portland near downtown - this is not a suburb. Many visitors (and residents!) are suprised to see how many homeless people are in Portland. Unfortunately, this fact means there can be crimes of convenience, such as car break ins - anywhere in Portland you go. Please be sure when parking anywhere in Portland that you do not leave items visible in your and don't forget to lock doors. I say this just to encourage you to be aware, not fearful. There are rarely any truly dangerous crimes in Portland, but sadly, petty theft is fairly common.

2. Note that the house is up a narrow exterior staircase and is not wheelchair accessible.

3. The stair to the attic bedroom is a small spiral type ships ladder/stair (see picture) so not safe for all people (little children without supervision, elderly, any others who may find navigating this type of stair difficult - such as inebriated folks! ;) etc.) And who ever is going on the stairs we encourage you to take great caution.

4. On that note, while Portland has some fantastic legal Marijuana dispensaries and some of you may want to try our legal weed, we ask that you don't smoke indoors. If you are looking to buy - or just see what legal pot looks like - we suggest you visit the very hip spot Farma, just two blocks away.

This neighborhood is wonderful. Near everything so no need to rent a car if you don't want to. In fact, you can rent bikes a block away! On same block or within blocks of restaurants, food carts, transportation, shops, grocery, and if you are looking for a little peaceful greenery, just head across the street and walk through the historic Ladd's Addition neighborhood which is known for its majestic elms, gorgeous houses, and rose gardens - just be sure to bring a gps - it is also known as the Bermuda triangle of Portland due to it's unique grid.

I am a mom of 2, wife of 1, and Founder and CEO of the only parental leave consultancy in the country. And I LOVE houses. I especially love finding the oldest, most dilapidated, neglected diamonds in the rough and fixing them up with the help of my hubby, brother (best carpenter/contractor ever!), and a crew of brilliant artisans. Mostly I just work and work, hug my people, and try to find time to sleep. I also spend a lot of time thinking about how lucky I am to have all of the support I have to chase my many (and often conflicting) dreams. My husband and I have been landlords for a long time, but this is our first airbnb hosting. He said to me recently, "Do you remember 24 years ago when you got back from Europe and said you wanted to run a youth hostel?" and I said "No" (because thank god his memory is better than mine) so he said, "Well, I feel like this is finally making that dream come true." And he was right. So, apparently I have been waiting 24 years to welcome YOU! Very exciting!
