We are 6 miles north of Chandler (Route 66) and equidistant from OKC, Shawnee & Stillwater (35 m). "Entire home" refers to the professionally built, 900 sq ft apartment over the garage which means stairs (within code). If you need help with your luggage, we'll be glad to provide it. You’ll love our place because of the solitude and quiet. There are 360 degree views without another house in sight. We have 80 acres with pastures, 1 pond stocked with fish, 2 streams & trails through the woods.

The space
This is a working cattle ranch on 80 acres of mostly pasture with about 20 acres of woods. There are several small ponds (only 1 with fish), two tiny streams and several walking trails. We are on a ridge so the view is 360 with no other houses in sight. The road in from the highway is 2 1/2 miles on a dirt/gravel. If it rains your vehicle will get mud on the tires but the base is solid so you shouldn't get stuck. Stargazing is pretty good here because we don't have big outside lights.

A word about cleaning in this Covid-19 time: I use an Alpine ozone air cleaner between guests. I spray all hard surfaces with chlorine-based cleaner in the kitchen & bathroom. I dust/polish all wood surfaces. I do NOT use chlorine cleaner on the latter as it damages the wood & finishes & several are antique. The floors are vacuumed then mopped with appropriate cleaner. If you have special needs or concerns, please ASK before booking. In case you don’t read everything in this listing, parties are not allowed.

Guest access
There is a good cell signal due to the proximity to I-44.. There is a TV in the living room and a small one in the master bedroom each with a digital antenna that picks up about 15 stations. There are 80 acres to explore including some trails through the woods. There are cattle and horses grazing these pastures so use common sense caution. There is also a stocked farm pond that guests may fish in. It's either clean your own or catch-and-release.

I am a retired IT executive for the Air Force; my husband is a retired civil engineer. After living in Georgia for 38 years we bought this property in Oklahoma and developed a working cattle ranch. It's been an adventure. Initially we built a 3 car garage with a 2 bed/2 bath apartment and lived there nearly 4 years. Last year we built the main house and thought it might be fun to rent the garage apartment to the occasional traveler who might like to disconnect for a weekend or week.
