Location: There is NO better part of NYC! Cobblestone, tree-lined street, in the middle of the magical West Village. The taxis are zooming down Seventh and up Eighth, but all is peaceful and lovely on the winding streets in between. A breathtaking and delightful escape, it feels good here.
Transportation: The 1/2/3 subway entrance is within view, right out the window. The A/C/E and L entrances are steps away on 14th Street. The BDFM is at W4th, a 5 minute walk. There are CitiBike docking stations every 2 blocks in all directions.
Neighborhood: A friend was walking with me on W4th and W12th, and he said, "This feels like a movie set!" Indeed, it is. The "heart" of NYC. The Hudson River is 5 short blocks away. Meatpacking district and High Line Park are a 3 minute walk. The chic-est part of Bleecker Street (from Hudson to Christopher) is a 2 minute walk. There are adorable parks with nice benches, Abingdon Square and Jackson Square, both around the corner. Chelsea Market is a five minute walk to Ninth Ave and 15th Street. Equinox Gym across the Street.
Food & Drink: You needn't venture to other parts of the City for the best, it is all right here! Delicious... From take-out to the swankiest, it is all within a few blocks.

Groceries: The best healthy grocery store is 30 seconds away around the corner. It's called Integral Yoga, and they also have an herb & health shop.
The Apartment: It's a 2-bedroom, with one private bedroom for YOU! Walk-up three flights. VERY sunny, corner apt facing SouthEast.
The Room: It has two windows with the tip-top of the Empire State Building within view! Beautiful antique full-sized bed with soft sheets and fluffy down pillows and towels. Dresser drawers and closet available for your use. Very comfy upholstered chair in the guest room. Also, plenty of electrical outlets for all your devices, and free wifi! In case you need toiletries, there is a little cabinet just for you, filled with shampoo, conditioner and lotions.
Amenities: Wifi. There (email hidden) unit in every room. Apartment is professionally cleaned weekly.
Laundry: The wonderful guy from Jane Street Laundry picks it up, and brings it back all clean and perfectly folded. It's divine!
The Canine: Violet is a 9-pound wire-haired Dachshund. She is hypoalergenic and doesn't shed a bit. She sometimes barks when she hears a noise in hallway or when she gets excited to see you. She doesn't bark on-and-on. She stops. She is very snuggly and sweet.
I assure you will be thrilled with the neighborhood and very happy with the lovely room. Please send me any questions you may have. It will be a pleasure to help you and have you here.

This is truly a lovely place to stay and Laurie is the best host! I can't recommend it more highly. The apartment is small but very tasteful and comfortable, and right in the heart of the West Village surrounded by tons of cute restaurants and shops. Laurie was so friendly and very responsive even when we had last-minute delays getting into New York.
Laurie was a wonderful, kind host. She was constantly offering help and information if we needed it and at the same time was discreet and respectful of our privacy. She really enjoys hosting and meeting people and we had a great time staying with Laurie. The flat was very clean and the location is fantastic. Anywhere Laurie makes her home is a wonderful place to stay. We were fortunate to meet her and make a new friend.
we had a very pleasant stay at laurie.she is a really nice and welcoming hostess. always available, even on the phone to help us find answers to our questions. thank you for all laurie ...
Laurie is a truly wonderful host and person. She was kind, helpful, and attentive, but still gave me my personal space. Literally, she is the perfect host! The guest room is cozy with nice artwork, plenty of free storage, complimentary toiletries, beautiful hardwood floors, and most importantly, a very comfortable bed. I did not use her kitchen, but I did spend a little time in her rocking chair one night (which was great). The West Village is one of my favorite neighborhoods in all of New York. A magical little area with tons of great restaurants and shops. An easy walk to Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, SoHo, Union Square, etc. - I never had to purchase a single Metro ticket during the weekend. Thank you Laurie, and please let me know when you come to Stockholm!
Laurie and Violet could not have made my daughter and I feel more welcome and at home. The entire apartment is so tastefully decorated, smells so clean and the bed had luxury bedding that knocked me out the moment I laid on it. Even with the outside city noise I slept like a baby! The location was primo for the West Village, Meatpacking, Chelsea and Soho. We walked all over easily with tons of top NYC restaurants, bars and shopping within blocks. If I don't return it's only because I've permanently moved there and am begging on Laurie's door to let me live there forever.
We have enjoyed a wonderful week in Laurie's place. This was my first time traveling to NYC, and Laurie was a great host to generously provide all information we need from transportation between the airport and her place, to recommending the laundromat at the corner to us. Violet was so lovely and sweet that we enjoyed our time with her everyday.
The location is perfect with easy access to major subways, very close to the Chelsea Market, High Line and many good restaurants nearby. I'll definitely recommend her place and will come visit again in my next trip to NYC.
Laurie and Violet made for perfect hosts! Laurie's apartment is ideally located close to the subway and some absolutely amazing restaurants (you must try Barbuto!) and the bed is out of this world!
I couldn't recommend a stay with Laurie any more highly, I'll be back for sure!
Great 4 nights stay at Laurie's home. The location is one of the best, at the crossroads of all metro lines while the evening charm of West Village balances NYC intensity very nicely. The apartment is sunny and charming as described. Laurie knows the city by heart, she gave us great advice on what to see and when. Thanks to her, we had a really good time!
What a wonderful, friendly and hospitalbe host is Laurie! She was caring, helping me to find my way in NYC and made me feel comfortable. She recomended me were to go so that I realy enjoyed the best of NYC and even took me an amazing night out!
Her apartment is very centraly located in one of the best districts of NYC, with nice restaurants and a subwaystation just around the corner. I highly recommend it!
Laurie was a great host, friendly and very accommodating. The apartment is in the best location possible, with access to all the subway lines I needed. The apartment was clean and quiet.
I would definitely stay at Laurie's place again.
