The Space

**IMPORTANT!: Please inquire with me before trying to book. This means that I would prefer that you do not put in a reservation request until after we have exchanged messages. I would like to know a little about any potential guests before agreeing to a booking. Please read through the description below and inquire further. Thanks!

I have a pseudo 2 bedroom apartment in the beautiful Upper East Side of Manhattan. The place is fairly large for average New York standards. All rooms have air conditioning. Linens, dishes, coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, etc would be available.

Please note: I say pseudo 2BR because there is no door between the two bedrooms, but there are curtains separating the two. It is also a railroad style apartment, which can lessen the privacy factor a little bit. None the less, you would have a non-shared space and a bed. I will be staying here when you are here, but there are no other roommates. I have high speed Wi-Fi. There is a full grocery store available 2 blocks away and a 24 hour superette (mini-mart/deli) available across the street.

The guest bedroom includes a double bed. I live in a pre-war building and do not have an elevator, so you would have to carry your things up two quick flights of stairs.

I do have two cats, so anyone with allergies or issues with cats might want to re-think a stay here. However, they are very friendly and can be in separate part of the apartment at night if need be. As you can see in the reviews, they are often well loved by my guests! :)

Interaction with Guests

I work during the day on weekdays and would be out of the apartment during that time. While I am home, I will provide you with as much privacy as possible while I am there. I am happy to offer suggestions/directions for places to visit during your stay.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is very safe. In fact, it is regarded as one of the safest in the city. This would be ideal for people who want to see the city and mostly need a place to sleep. Staying in a neighborhood away from all the craziness of the tourist areas offers a more authentic and intimate NYC experience.

Getting around

A cab from JFK airport would be approximately $50 to $60 and from LaGuardia aiport would be approximately $30 to $35.

The apartment is approximately a 7 minute walk from the nearest subway station, right around the corner from the local bus that takes you straight downtown, and approximately a 3 to 4 minute walk to the crosstown bus that takes you to the west side. It's about a 10 minute walk from Central Park and roughly 10 minute walk from Carl Schurz Park on the East River. It's located near many of the city's famous museums (the Museum Mile), and you would have easy access to many parts of the city. There are TONS of restaurants and bars in this area. You would never run out of places to eat.

  • Jennifer was really friendly, very flexible with check in/check out times, and was a great host! Her apartment was in a great location--very safe, near lots of restaurants, and easy access to the train. The apartment itself was very nice and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Plus, she has two very sweet cats to keep you company! Thanks for a great stay!

  • Jennifer has been such a kind and sweet host. She get in contact with us to schedule the check in and outs and was more than available to set up the best time to fit our needs.

The room is cozy, warm and clean. It is furnished with towels, little shampoos and deodorant which make it overall really awesome.

Is probably one of the best spot in NYC and we truly recommend her spot to everybody. Plus is a Bagel shop right on the corner, me and Dorothy went there both days of our staying,

    Recommended 5 Stars!

  • Jennifer and Justin completely made our vacation. They were so accommodating and had recommendations on making the most of our trip to NYC. The location is absolutely perfect, easy access to the subway and cheap cab ride from Times Square! When we go back to New York (because we will), staying with Jennifer would be our first choice!

  • Jennifer's and Justin` s apartment is in a good location. The next subway is only two blocks away and it will take you down 5th avenue and all the way downtown to Brooklyn Bridge. That was very convenient for us. There are also some restaurants in the area. You won't have your private room tho, because Justin and Jennifer will walk through your room to their bedroom. That was however, no problem since they are very considerate and uncomplicated with regarding their guests schedule. They were very helpful with answering our questions and had some good advises for bars and restaurants. We had a pleasant stay at Jennifer and Justins & I would definitely recommend staying there.

I am in my 30's and work in the medical field. I am originally from Texas but transplanted to NYC in 2010. I am often out and about, and time spent at home is quiet and low-key. I would be happy to give you recommendations for your stay or help you in any way that I can.
