Very clean, comfortable, and breezy second floor space with distant ocean views. Pieces by local artists in every room and plenty of musical instruments await your stay. Centrally located: 25 minutes to North Shore, Kailua, or Waikiki. Directly on bus lines or off street parking available. Comfortably fits 2 people.
Quiet, calm, safe, and relaxed...
Several bus routes very close!
Rental cars can greatly help your ability to see the entire island and usually are $15-30/day :)
Off street parking is available for $10 extra a day or there is ample off street parking. On site guest parking is available till midnight. Very safe neighborhood.
15 mins driving from the airport, direct bus lines from airport available at $2.50 (they only allow reasonable sized carry on bags), cab is usually around $40, and I can pick you up (with advance notice) for $20.
Had a great stay, the apartment is very nice and clean. If you rent a car and want to discover the island your nicely positioned. I did not meet Sean but may be next time.
Sean literally saved the Hawaii portion of my trip due to a second-hand smoke issue at a condo that I was renting. He managed to get me in two weeks earlier than I had scheduled and if that was not accommodating enough, he even stored my luggage two days before I arrived.
I learned a lot of little cooking techniques from Sean while he prepared his daily meals and had great conversations while he was doing that. Also, I went to see him play with Cynthia and met a lot of his wonderful friends. As others have pointed out, Sean is very easy going and is well suited to be hosting in his home; he is very welcoming.
My travel history is extensive and very few people impressed me as much as Sean did as a host. My hope is that someday he can get to my city so that I can repay the kindness that was offered to me.
Lastly, to quell any doubts that a prospective guest may have about reserving with Sean--I spent almost one full month with him and as a person who lives alone, sharing for that amount of time would normally be a challenge, but it was far from that. He is the only host that I connected with where we added each other to (website hidden) to stay in touch.
His place is exactly like the photos as well. He is quiet, a non-smoker (big plus for me) and makes a wonderful herbal tea that I have to get the recipe for:) If you stay with him, you will leave with nice memories like I am!
Very nice and clean place in a great location if you want to see different parts of Oahu.
Sean was very helpful and we enjoyed staying with him - especially when we got to check out his cooking skills :-)
Sean's place was perfect for us. The apartment and the room clean, furnished stylishly and in a nice safe neighborhood near Honolulu. Unfortunately our timing was bad, so we didn't have much opportunities to get to know each other. Nevertheless Sean prepared everything perfectly, so we had everything we needed without him having to be there.
Sean, is a great host, he is very friendly and helpful. He really made us feel at home in his place.
Most important are his touristic advices and his knowledge, not only about Ohau, but on the other Hawaiian islands as well. So did he send us on a wonderful hiking trip on our first day. Thanks a lot!
Sean was always reachable for us by TXT-message.
If we had the time we would go back in a minute.
Sean has been a great host. We have been just for two nights, but he is very friendly and will make you feel comfortable since the beginning. He also gave us nice tips about the island. The home is super nice with many comforts. 25 minutes by car from north shore and waikiki beach and also close to other nice spots.
Sean was a helpful, laid back, and generous host. We were the longest reservation he ever had stay (15 nights). Before our trip, I asked if he had a blow dryer so I could pack light and he went out and bought one to have available for guests immediately. That was so kind! When we arrived, there were beach towels and bath towels neatly stacked at the bottom of the bed, complete with little pieces of chocolate candy on top (nice touch). He had snorkel gear in the bedroom closet for our use and beach chairs on the patio he offered us as well. The room had an Oahu hiking book for us to peruse. All of these generous offerings were a huge convenience to have while on the island. He stayed at the property about 50% of the time. As a musician, he played several gigs on the island while we were there. He shared event details with us so that we could see him play live. We went to one of his shows and we were so impressed!! He is incredibly talented. Sean gave us tips on places to eat, hike, etc. When making a Costco run, he even offered to pick us up some groceries. We loved the comfort of his apartment and are happy to have made a new friend.
Awesome stay at Sean's place in Waipio. Sean is super chill with plenty of knowledge about hiking and enjoying Oahu. He even had a welcome guide waiting for us! We got to see his band, Cynth & the What's His Faces, play and they were great. Waipio is 25 minutes to town, 25 minutes to the North Shore, within driving distance of grocery stores and restaurants. Definitely need a car. All in all great stay, I highly recommend.
Best AirBNB experience yet! Sean's place is perfect, clean, easy access to all of Honolulu. When I walked in I was unexpectedly treated to a practice session of one of Sean's many bands. Next time I visit I'll make sure to schedule it around a performance between Sean and Cynth!
Nice and clean apartment - perfect for my girlfriend and me. Sean prepared a nice welcome packet for us to enter the apartment and get situated with internet and everything without him having to be there. Though it's not next to any beaches, it's an ideal location if you have a rental car (which is a must in Oahu anyways) because it's equal access to all four shores of the island. Unfortunately, Sean was busy performing alongside Jack Johnson in the North Shore during our weekend stay (be sure to ask him about it), so we didn't get to actually meet until we were on our way out, but it was nice having the place to ourselves. Highly Recommended!
