Interaction with Guests
A farmer or farmhand is always available to answer your questions, make recommendations for off-farm activities and to make your on farm experience safe and fun.
The farm is one of three working farms on a quiet country road. The farm has a farm store and on-farm restaurant, Fable - gems in the middle of nowhere!
Horse or wheels (bike or car) needed to get around.
Other Things to Note
Unplug. Limited cell service. No television reception.
Two-night stay required on holiday weekends.
You are guests on a working farm with cattle, pigs, lambs, goats, ducks, geese, chickens, guinea hens, rabbits, border collies and livestock guardian dogs AND all the sights, sounds and aromas that go with a working farm. Please note that meals, including breakfast, are not included. Breakfast at Fable is included for additional fee.
No pets allowed on the farm. We love dogs (we have 10) but because the livestock guardian dogs work hard day and night to protect our livestock, your pet would be considered a threat to them and is not safe on our farm.
I highly recommend this jewel! Everything was just as listed, rustic and very peaceful on a farm tucked away in the rolling green hills. The farm and cabin is just beautiful and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the babbling brook.
Denise cooked us a delicious breakfast. Good food, good conversation. We'll be back!
This is an amazing experience in a beautiful scenic area..it is glamorous camping...the cabin is clean and comfortable but the beds are for short people...I am 5-9 and it was short for me
A beautiful stay next to a creek and happy farm animals! What a lovely get away! We would definitely recommend this cabin for anyone wanting to get out of the city, while not paying obscene amounts for a hotel!
What a great retreat! The FarmHand Cabin has all the great essentials that made getting out of the city and getting some fresh air so easy. The little fridge with orange juice, milk, boiled eggs and granola were such a wonderful touch. Everything you need to grill and have a great out door picnic is organized in the cabin room. It's amazing all these things are available to use and yet the space inside is still open and uncluttered. Just pack a weekend bag and stay. The trickling creek right beyond the fire pit is beautiful to listen to all day and night and helps put the city blues way behind quickly. The out door sink and mirror were a also beautiful touch - even washing the dishes with grass under my feet was a delight.
I would say this is a wonderful place to think, walk, and rest. The cabin is on the farm. Close enough to he main home and barns, just far enough to feel like you have your own space. The farm store was open with so many goodies, bring some cash.
My boyfriend and I certainly hope to come back for another stay.
We had a lovely stay! The cabin was adorable and perfect for what we were looking for. Not too rustic, not too modern. This is the type of place you want when your accommodations are part of the experience, not just a place to sleep. The owners are very kind and attentive as necessary. We would come back here in a HEARTBEAT!
We had a wonderful time. Amazing food, relaxing environment, warm and friendly hosts. We particularly enjoyed visitations by the very affectionate and beautiful dogs and their herd of goats. Nice to be reminded what being close to nature feels like. The cabin was cosy and felt very private.
