The house is located in the center of Basel, only a 10min walk from the historic old town. There's a tram stop only a 2min walk away from the apartment with a direct link to the train station (17mins). The airport is 20mins away. Messe Basel (the exhibition center) is only 5mins away!! The river Rhine can be reached within a short stroll of 5 to 10 mins. Although the city center of Basel is not very car friendly, there is a good amount of free 'blue zone' parkings around the building which allow you to stay for free on weekends as well as 1.5h during weekdays and from 6pm to 8am.

This apartment is exactly as is shown: bright, spacious and has everything you need for a great city break in the beautiful city of Basel. We stayed with our two children (six and eight) who LOVED their attic bedroom! It was clean and had helpful little things like towels, dishwasher tabs, some coffee to get us started and dish towel. We were easily able to cook a family dinner in the specious kitchen and sit together at the dining table.
Over the river in five minutes to the 'old town' on the number 14 tram. But there are good restaurants walking distance, be sure to explore close to the apartment, much cheaper too. We loved Restaurant Eintracht for dinner - welcomed the children, delicious salads, pasta and soups - the veal cordon bleu a speciality, delicious! We passed The Union which also loved great, but didn't go in as, sadly, there weren't enough nights to eat everywhere. The other restaurant we'd recommend is Restaurant zur Harmonie on the other side of the river to the apt - my favourite, a wonderful place where we could have eaten anything on the menu.
If you have kids, there is a park 30 seconds walk from the apartment (and many more close by), a visit to Wasserfallen is a must and Basel Zoo was a great day out which we all loved.
All in all this apartment is a brilliant base to explore Basel and the surrounding area and Michelle was very helpful with local tips and checking we were ok. Thank you!
The apartment was very clean and spacious! Perfect area for a group of 5-6! The location is strategic because of the tram stop and a short walk to the river :)
As we are from Australia - the location of this apartment surprised us at first. From the description as "central" - we expected it to be in an area with shops, cafes and restaurants. This is not the case - the apartment is in a quiet street in an area filled with other apartment buildings. We did soon discover the tram that took us to the other side of the river where there is a lot these things. However it was not always convenient for dinner to have to catch a tram.
The apartment is very nice as other reviewers have said and Raphael was certainly helpful. However we missed not having a washing machine as we are travelling for a number of weeks.
Overall a great apartment if you are know Basel and are sure about the location.
Michelle and Raphael were amazing hosts! The apartment was perfect- spacious, very clean and bright. The bathroom and kitchen had everything one would need.
Raphael was available to answer all my questions. I look forward to coming back next year!
We stayed several weeks at this apartment. It offers everything mentioned. Even though it is situated in a busy area of town it is very quiet at night. We did not get to know Michelle, but dealt with her son Raphael. He is a very pleasant guy, answered to all our requests within a short time. We recommend this flat, especially to people who come to the many Basel conventions.
